I like beef and venison steaks, some lamb cuts, duck breasts and similar meats decidedly bloody on the inside.

Burgers however present a problem. Short of actual poisoned meat any contamination is on the surface, most of which is dealt with by even the briefest searing. But meat ground for burgers has turned the outside into the middle and then let it through raw...

On occasion I've seen the meat trimmed and ground or even done it myself which is fine. But I wouldn't otherwise trust a rare cooked burger.

We have a smokey bones here but they do not have that on the menu. In fact they took chicken fried chicken off of the menu. Since that happened we do not go there anymore. Besides they have panther piss for beer. Can't abide a place to eat that does not have good beer. In fact because of the beer selection we no longer go to Outback Steak House

In fact, because of the food selection (and their horrible seasoning) we generally dont go to the Outback Steak House, either.

I'll go to that restaurant but I'll pass on the food. I'll have a coke and drool at the waitresses :)

Has anyone else tried the Jack-in-the-Box $2.99 Jack's Combo? A Jumbo Jack berger with fries and a side of two deep-fried tacos. Doesn't miss a "heart attack burger" by much. Extra cheese, but hold the onions and I'll have a milk shake with that.;)

--Got some elk steaks cooking right now. They were in some cheap red, red wine and then they were in some lemon pepper brine and now they are ready to dine on. I just wrap them in tin-foil and put them next to the propane lantern and rocks a few hours ago. I suppose I never did know how to use a kitchen oven. Oh well.

It was my favorite meal before I got out from under all my debt. Now I prefer Home Town Buffet.
