I was raised in a small Quaker town and "homos" (how I hate that word) were frowned upon. I had a crush on my best friend and felted disgusted with myself at the time for thinking such. Thankfully times are a bit more open now and some school have GLB groups and the topic is more in the open although hardly as supportive as it needs to be.

I feel for each of you that was tormented with these inner feelings and unable to bring them out in the open...being a gay teenager in the not too distant past was a difficult road!

Once upon a time, I was young and randy, but it was taboo. Now, I'm too old, but it's allowed. C'est la vie.

I just hope that things are better now, and that they'll continue to get better. Still, minorities have little traction in democracies, especially moral minorities. Obama is president, but GLB people may be worse off than before.
