I've been on estradiol about two years. At first very low Estradiol started at 2mg and slowly increased. with 100 mg Sprionalatone. (my T level without FHRT was less then 250 to start) and dropped rapidly. I had depression and no (zero) sex drive.

Last 12 month at 8mg. with 150 mg spironolactone. My T= less than 20 and my E is around 85. My depression is gone and I have about 1/10 the sex drive I had prior to FHRT. I have orgasms between 3 per week and several weeks between. (and I love this level) Appetite about the same maybe a little less. Desire to be female has increased but Sexual fantasies are less.

Since Cypertone Acetate didn't work for you I would recommend trying spironolactone depending on what side effects caused you problems. Castration is a big step and it would be much better to test drive effects before making it permanent.

I was wondering if others who have had the procedure done and are on female hormones, find they stil have desire for sex and if any of their preferences or fetishes have changed as a result of the loss of the bulk of testosterone.

I am also castrated and am currently taking 0.275 cc's of injectable Estradiol Valerate per week. My current testosterone level is 21 as verified by my last blood test. At this level of testosterone, there is absolutely NO sex drive.

You may want to reconsider the removal of your scrotum if you ever plan on having the GRS procedure. You're going to need it.

Good day, everyone, from a new and, I expect, soon to be fully qualified member (prostate cancer). This thread interests me a great deal because, like at least one other member I have noticed, I will obviously NOT be able to take testosterone after castration and so will be taking estrogen.

I have read the writings of Wassersug et al, but I still lack information. I accept that I will likely have considerable breast growth and probably retain some sex drive, but what exactly will that sex drive translate into in practical terms?

Will I still have orgasms? If so, in a different form and reached by a somewhat different route? Will my erections cease altogether or will enough remain for some mild penetration?

I am sure there is someone out there who can tell me about these things. If so, let's hear from you.

I took an antiandrogen for almost a year. I simultaneously took an antiestrogen as I didn't want to experience breast growth. Within a short time, I no longer experienced any sex drive or erections. Only through electro-stimulation was I able to still have an orgasm. I also had insignificant breast growth. So, these two hormones work as claimed. After a year, as an experiment, I tapered off the drugs to see what would happen. It took several months, but I was soon at the same place as before starting the regimen. I haven't decided yet whether to go back on the chemical castration.

I had an orchiectomy but never took any female hormones. I had a very high sex drive pre castration. It was crazy. Sometimes I would masturbate 6 times daily. It interfered with my life.

After I was castrated it was reduced but still pretty high. I was 22 when I was castrated. After the castration I would masturbate once daily on average. Some days it would be high again and I would masturbate up to 3 times daily. Now I had a penectomy so I can't masturbate anymore. I love it now. I feel so relaxed. I hated having a penis and having the urge to masturbate. I think I am going to try taking estrogen too. Just curious to see how I would feel if I take it. Also I would love to transition and dress as a female in public.

Your situation before the castration is very similar to my situation now.
