That's so wierd, the same thing happened to me. Though I was in my early twenties when my doctor discovered I had an undescended testicle (I thought maybe I only had one). It didn't get removed until I was 28 though. One doctor said to me the cancer risk was only in later life.
I thought it strange that it wasn't picked up till then as I saw doctors all through my childhood. I guess they forgot to check down there.
