Slightly off topic but... I actually tried freezing them off once several years ago. All I can say is BAD IDEA. It really hurts when everything thaws back out :(

Damn! I could probably afford the $100 and the other cost, but airfare remains beyond my means. Ah well, I guess I'll have to wait and see if any bootlegs of the video arise.

Here in north of Boston it was -15 F this morning. I went out in t- shirt and sweats to start the car and Bam! it hit me. We have had over a 100 inches of snow so far this year and are expecting as much as a foot tonight

Those light snows are always refreshing, makes everything look clean and new.

Out here in the front range of the majestic Rockies (where our winters and springs are generally sooner than the eastern side of the hills), the days are finally warmer than freezing and the sun has been coming out in full force but of course when the sun sets it gets down to ten or fifteen degrees F real fast. This year more than most years people are driving very erratically, weaving from one side of the road to the other, even totally driving on the wrong side sometimes, suddenly slowing down at times and then at other times speeding up. Potholes are everywhere and on top of that there are all those great mounds of snow to circumvent plus major streams of snow melt all over the roads and those great puddles you just have to drive slowly through but the little puddles you're better off trying to avoid since there could be more potholes lurking underneath them too. At night time there are plenty of places to skate your car if you're not watching but at least you can drive and even park on the un-pavement as long as you get off of the un-pavement by about an hour after sunrise lest you be stuck in the mud. But then there are those who get around that by using four pieces of plywood or whatever underneath their wheels and then go bolting daringly back onto the pavement without stopping lest they get stuck in the mud. If they don't make it they just have to hitch hike it on into town or something but if you're the one who is driving along the pavement it's best to just use your brakes lest someday you become the one stuck out in the un-pavement. So after having alternated between sub-zero temeratures and major blizzards for so long now this is very welcome relief.

You guys have been clobbered this year and we have had next to none. However its never warmed up enough to melt and about once a week we get another inch, Kristoff is right it does make everything fresh and new :).

Actually I'm on the western slopes rather than the front range. I don't know where that front range came in. The front range is Denver, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo which do make headlines in the national news a lot of times whereas out here where nobody lives (maybe nobody in their right mind that is) we're pretty much unheard from but I do have to tell you this: Everytime we get hammered, about one day later Denver may or may not get it (sometimes they get it but we don't too) then a couple of days later Kansas, Oklahoma or Texas may be in the news for the storms they're getting and then maybe a week later or so the deep south or else the northeast makes the headlines. That was the scenario with those tornados in Georgia. I think about a week before that was when we got three feet in two days. It could have been worse but we had been getting spoiled lately in the last few years. But now has come the season to soak in the hot springs with all the other "nakies". Anybody for Orvis, or Rico, or Jemez? Anyone?

Yoli here, sans goosebumps.

Go figure! We'll push 80F today.

It was certainly cool enough when I caught my first bass of the morning, just at dawn, and is maybe 66F now (Noon). We left the lake at 11AM 'cause I need to prepare for a KKK (Kinky Kastration Koven) meeting to be convened at a nice restaurant/bar later, but DO wish I we could have stayed on the water until at least now. I was on a roll, bass-wise, at one point catching bass on four consecutive casts! Not bad for a simple little girlpuppy, huh?

I think they've finally been triggered into the aggressive pre-spawn mode...Yippeeeee! I finished with eleven, all kissed, thanked, and released, of course. My male partner actually tied me today, and he did have "Big Bass" honors this time (6.4lbs on the digital scale...a *gravid female, of course.)

I know that most of you are not too interested in my hunting and fishing adventures except for the fact that a female usually out-performs the men in those arenas, but I do love it so, especially cutting the balls off a defunct buck deer...heehee.

Given the traditions and history of Texas weather I won't be surprised if we get a late sleet storm next week😄

What the heck! I'll fish in a sleet storm! But, if there's any chance of lightning, this girl is OFF the water, pronto! A 7' graphite rod is, to the God Of Lightning, almost irresistible and I don't want to be a krispy kritter!

(Yoli, shut up and go answer your PvtMsgs.)

OK, sorry. It's the Bloody Marys, y'see.

Love to all,

Yoli The Bassin' Babe
