4) Why is that only cultures around the Indian Ocean have stories of a global flood? One idea is that perhaps a meteor might have hit the sea. Everyone saw the damage from a tidal wave imagine the damage from an impact. They have even found evidence of a possible impact about 100 miles from Madagascar. To date they have found some 41 impact sites on land around the world, but have not really searched the ocean floor for any.
I suppose the creationist are saying that God only has the capacity to create in seven days. Also, so God is not capable of creating the everything in billions of years? Remember the Pope said everything revolved around the sun, and he was wrong.
Anytime science and religion contradict each other you need to go back and question your beliefs.

The bible was put together in three clear stages.
1) when the Babylonians dragged the jews off they need a central source of beliefs and put together the first five books of Mosses. They were put together from four main sources and an editor deciding which parts to cut and paste.
2) The Romans took over the Jews they needed more canon and compiled the rest of the old testament. Once again they used stories that had been passed down and accounts written well after the fact and compiled them into one document.
3) The council of Nicea put together by Emperor Constantine in 325 ad. Every one was using a mish mash of handed down stories and and paper as gospel, and no agreed on anything. At the time Constantine took over the Romans there were four basic branches of Christianity
a) the Essenes
b) Jewish Christians
c) Roman Catholics
d) Coptic Orthodox
the Roman Catholics won simply because they resided in the seat of power and used there influence to disband, arrest and get rid of the others.
Constantine wanted one complete book and called all the early leaders together and gave them a bunch of money then ordered them to come up with one set of beliefs.
Only Christians believe in the New Testament. Jews, Muslims and Christians believe in the old testament.
Muslims view Jesus as a holy man not a savior, and they have stories of Jesus in the Koran.
Occasionally history channel runs some programming on who wrote the bible, and banned books of the Bible that are very interesting.
Also, every story in the Bible was written well after the facts. Some estimates are 500 to 3,000 years after each event. Get a group of people together tell one person a story then have that person tell the next and so on all the way around the room, and you know what, it wont be the same! And someone expects me to fully believe a story that was passed down for 500 years?

My current beliefs are
1) there is no Satan or Hell! It was a creation of a man named Dante Alighieri who lived in the 1300's the book is commonly called Dante's Inferno.
2) there are bad people in the world who left God for some reason, and when they die the Angels push them right into the next body about to be born.
3) Jesus is not a Savior! He was sent to bring a message of peace and love and that was corrupted by greedy church's.
4) God the father and Mother God love everyone (even the bad ones) and send us down to learn much like parents send there kids to school. Why? so we can perfect our eternal souls. Tell me why God can not have a companion? Neither of them will ever turn there backs on you, but you can turn there back on them.
If a child is told not to touch the stove, and then later does so and burns him/her self do you kick the child out of the house for disobeying a commandment? or does a parent say something like, "see now you know why I said do not touch the stove!"
Father God is the Rock and he holds you steady in his hand. MOther God comes to your aide in times of trouble and helps out or has angels, etc.. help out.
God is about love. Father and Mother God are NOT about hate, greed, or any of mans pettiness so do not put them on God!
They do not care who you sleep with! How ever they do want you to be kind to your fellow humans and give that person a cut in line, or help feed the poor, volunteer at your local shelter or even animal shelter...Father and Mother God love the animals too!
Religion is not about worshiping God!
Religion is about a community of like minded people![/SIZE]
One last thing,
Feeling Guilty about something you did means your a good person. Do you think Hitler felt guilty about killing the Jews?
