With the recent flap about people putting incorrect modifiers on their stories or incorrect ones, perhaps we could have volunteers review stories and correct their modifier markings if they're wrong, or maybe even go through and fix grammar and such.
Bboy, I can help any sort of database stuff that would need to be done, and maybe the coding depending on exactly how the archive runs.

The problem mentioned of identifying tags is not an easy one to solve. Unlike editing a story or title, which is easy, the tags that read G,S,Bi,F, whatever, are in something entirely different and cannot be easily worked with. If they were, I'd have edited a great deal of them by now. Right now, the only way I can add to them is to type it into the header of the story body, which by the time you get to it, you've already downloaded the story and it's a moot point because the tags are not where they're supposed to be.
As far as editing the stories themselves, we're not even going to go there. I'm DONE doing that.

What are they in? If they're in any sort of SQL database I can whip up tools to do that sort of thing pretty fast and easily. If they're in something else I can try to work up a PERL script or something.
I just mention this because it's kinda annoying to be looking for gay stories and find straight or kiddie ones, and there have been several stories marked straight that were most definitely gay stories. The other thing is that it would be nice to be able to search for just gay or straight or whatever stories, and that would be more accurate if the tags were...

Keep in mind that there are two different bits of info:
1. Icon: S,G,Bi,TG,F,None
2. Description: Also has G,S,Bi, etc. along with Warning, Testicles, Penectomy and Nullo.
#1 is the bit that shows up in the file listing (newfiles, etc.)
#2 shows up in the header of each story
I, Lord of the Eunuch Archive, have bestowed upon Paolo, my dark prince, terrible and awesome powers to modify willy-nilly virtually all aspects of a story. Treat him kindly and he may, if you are lucky, not smite you for your impudence!

Seriously now, we rely on authors to do a good job when they submit the story to proof it, and to provide accurate and complete information for the tags. If there is an honest mistake or something you realize needs changing after the fact, write Paolo (first) or myself (second) and we will attempt to get on it. We do have lives outside the Archive though - don't be offended if it takes some time; and if we tell you it can't be done, it can't be done.
We're not a story proofing or rewriting service, although if you make friends with someone like Paolo, or me to a lesser extent (I am evil - I have minions, not friends) you can generally nicely ask and pursuade someone to help you out.
There IS a writers forum on these boards that you have to ASK Paolo nicely to become a member of ... when you are added to the list you will magically see the writers forum and ask questions and solicit advice from other writer-members.
