Since I have diabetes in the family and a slightly elevated blood sugar, I've found out that hard liquors are no problem (except to the liver), dry wines are better for you, and light beers (only a couple at a time) are the thing to have, and that guinness is the lightest of the light beers even though it's black. I don't generally put stuff in my beer but if I was a brewer I'd probably put some rose hips in it.

There is always the old fashioned "Depth Charge", a shot of Ron Rico 151 dropped into a schooner of dark beer from an altitude of one foot. If I didn't put anything in the beer there was Kronenburg, when I could find it.

This is a memory since I haven't had a drop of alcohol in then years. However, O'Doul's Amber and Coors Cutter are, at least, acceptable on a hot summer day. Sigh...
