Water and its Importance in Your Diet
Water and its Importance in Your Diet
Drink water.
It's good for you.
Coffee, tea, soda, and alcohol will kill you, you know.

As my demure sister, the nurse, always says your body is like a toilet, it needs a lot of water to flush properly.

Re: Water and its Importance in Your Diet
Indeed.
I drink a ridiculous amount of coffee, but I force myself to drink a large jug of water every day with it. I get headaches (terrible ones that wake me up in the middle of the night) if I either go without coffee for a day, or forget to drink my required water amount.
It's hard to drink water when not thirsty, though, so if I don't feel like drinking the water, I eat some crackers and add a bit of lemon juice to the water to make it more palitable, but one way or the other, one has to drink that water! 8 large glasses (as recommended) is not neccessary, but I recommend at least 3 or 4... and cola, like Paolo says, does not qualify as a substitute.

I seldom drink water. If I drink plain water it usually ties my stomach up in knots and can hurt enough to incapcitate me. --FLO--

Re: Water and its Importance in Your Diet
I put water, coffee and tea down but it just registered the tea. I drink plenty of water with all its mineral supplements (tap water). Once in a while I wind up drinking bottled water. Probably I drink a cup of coffee almost every morning. Once in a while I'll drink two or more. In the summer I drink plenty of ice tea also and in the winter I drink hot tea or herbal tea or something pretty much every day. Because of my potential blood sugar situation I don't drink sweet tea much any more and for alcohol I drink guinness or a light beer once in a while. Maybe once a month or so I may down a shot with some friends I guess.

Dearest Friends,
Alcohol is the mother of all sins so let us come and work together to ban it
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour. "
Drink water, soda, mineral wasser
My body is my temple and it is open for business
Cheers,

Water is probably the best for you although I do have to have my morning cup of coffee.
During the summer, I make sun tea occasionally but since I am the only one who drinks it, it is a waste of time and energy.

Re: Water and its Importance in Your Diet
As a youngster I never acquired a taste for coffee and got my caffeine fix in the morning by drinking diet Pepsi until I was 63. Then my dad fell and broke his hip and shoulder. The orthopedic surgeon told me that my dad's osteoporosis was due to having too many sodas during his adult life. He said that the main cause of the epidemic of osteoporosis in this country is the phosphoric acid in most sodas which leeches the calcium from your bones. He further stated his opinion that no one over the age of 60 should drink a soda. Funny how fast I learned to like coffee.
