Oh, how I miss Blaise.

Apparently, he felt the sting off censorship, complained and got thrown of the Board. Well he did throw down the gauntlet but, still was banning necessary ?

For months I have witnessed some of my posts just, disappearing. No explanation. Just gone.

Okay, this is a "private Board" and if I don't like it I can leave. Understood.

But, dear censor -

I PM with many members. And some who have become bored and drifted off along with some who have been around for years and feel this board is steadily becoming, 'borifed'. And I beg them not to leave and to help make this place more, stimulating.

Well when the, thought control police are active, only the most mundane remains. A truism.

So dear Mr. Censor, whichever moderator you may be, please, try edit uploads you don't like and leave reason why rather then total deletion.

The deleted post was in the General Health area, a discussion of Asthma and the importance of water. It offered further discussion per the Board members' interests and direction. Water is hardly a prescription item.

And please do not tell me to change my password. There has been too much messing with my account for you not to recognize who's computer it is coming from. AND my password cannot substantially reduce my repute.

Will the involved moderator please speak up?

What is the problem?

You really seek a more boring Board and to loose some of your best and most stimulating uploaders?

If not, then I hope you use your records and E-Mail, Blaise and invite him back for starters.

Challenging the moderators to throw him off and being thrown off is hardly an open minded attitude from the involved moderator. It does serve as a demonstration of "power". I now sense Blaise feeling what I am now and that was why he challenged the mods.

I am not challenging. I am appealing for more tolerance and less censorship except where Children are concerned. Even nasty personal comments could be edited out with an edit note and warning to the author.

The ball is in your court censoring moderator.

Sincerely And Appreciative of This Board

Moi

Wasn't me...just so you know.

As for Blaise, he threw a fit when I turned off the Political Forum to avoid the shitstorm that I was knew was coming with the last presidential election. Apparently, it made him angry enough to ask to be banned. If temporarily turning off that forum was provocation, then I guessed he was provoked enough.

I wasn't aware that the Archive was the only place online to argue politics.

He dared anyone on Staff to ban him, so I did. As I recall, he even said "please".

I thought that was nice.

He also knows that all he has to do to be reinstated is apologize. It's not like the Staff here can't be found via IM or email.

Here is Blaise's post http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showpos ... ostcount=1

Please remove me from this forum. I no longer feel I can take part in this forum.

They only did what he asked. Maybe, he doesn't want to come back. Have you asked him? In any case - given they only did as he asked - it's up to him to make the first move.

It's not unusual for members to become bored and leave. It's more unusual for some to stay year after year.

Moi,

Are they private?

Actually, no.

Any Mod. on any board who has administrative access can go "through the back door" and get into any member's account and do anything.

Personally, I would never commit a violation of trust like that.

The worst I've ever done is change A1's avatar...

It is like Gates, the threatening 5'3" frail obviously educated

Black man vs the 🐷

We expect the 🐷 to be the bigger man although both could be

considered at fault. But, the 🐷 showed only he was the more powerful

man.

I know what Blaise did and it wasn't that bad.

The moderator could have just ignored his request.

I know he ain't gonna apologize.

The moderators are a collection of educated people and should know that

even, Moi has done some uploading while intoxicated.

A challenge to be banned over the closure of the Political area should have been ignored and not a demonstration of, power. Thus we lost a heavily flavored, independent and stimulating contributor.

WHERE IS THE ASTHMA THREAD

AND IMPORTANCE OF WATER POST PLACED IN

GENERAL HEALTH AREA ?

Or more properly, WHY ?

If it was not an action of a Moderator then a

Moderator certainly knows the, assumed other computer ID,

that is hacking into my account. Yes?

My disappearing uploads are not blind occurrences for those

who can look at my PM's. Yes ?

Gracias.

PS Maybe the mods will round table on their own principles and

let the rest of us know the rules. P = Private, or Not ?

Uploads secretly deleted or note of editing ?

To me so simple, morality and ethics.

No member bashing or Children involvement are the only rules I know.

For what it is worth, I am the heavy, and you have pushed your limits with me too far. Bye bye

I never hacked your account. But I have shit canned several of your posts - they weren't so innocent, and we both know why. You pushed beyond where you were warned not to go.

Just for the record here, I went into the back room to check the list of those who have been banned from the Archive. The information only goes back as far as December of 2006, so we have 32 months of records and 26 people have been banned in that period (one of them twice under different names). That’s less than one per month.

Spammers are one category that gets instantly banned when detected. Anyone who offers to cut is also banned immediately. Abusive or racist language will get a warning, but will result in banning if continued. Those three categories account for most of those who have been banned.

There are also a couple of kids who registered. For legal reasons, we cannot allow anyone under the age of 18 to be a member and to post or ask questions here. Personally, I think that’s unfortunate. The survey results show that a number of the members here (all now over the age of 18) made serious attempts at self-castration before the age of 18, at least a couple of them succeeding. The kids need accurate information on how dangerous self-surgery can be. They need to fully understand the consequences of their actions. Engaging in dialogue would probably be better than going it alone, or only reading posts with no possibility to ask questions.

I have stayed in touch with Blaise. He and I exchange emails and talk on the phone once in a while. I’ve asked him to consider returning to the Archive, but he hasn’t wanted to yet. Maybe some day. I, too, miss his posts.
