Orchiectomy Travel Companion, Richmond/Washington DC
So I found a doctor to castrate me, but I need to take a driver. I haven't scheduled the surgery yet, but it will probably not happen until october or november. I'm trying to start early and get to know people near me first. If anyone around richmond or washington DC is interested, send me a message. I've got to get to know you before trusting you with my car keys, so we'll have to meet a few times beforehand. Let me know if you're interested.

Although there are probably numerous EA people who are most trustworthy, there may be a few lurkers out there who are opportunists. You should really look for someone who you already trust. If you trust them they should have no problem with helping out to drive you and support you during your time of need. A lot of people trusted Bernie Madoff and look what it got them.........financially screwed. You really can trust no one, especially those who protray themselves as most trustworthy. If you seek out an existing friend to trust and they betray that trust by freaking out over your decision to be a eunuch, then they weren't much of a friend were they? Good riddens to them. Try another friend. If all your so called friends shun you, double good riddens. Eventually you will find new friends, true friends, who accept you as who you are, and from that pool of people you can again develop a few people who you trust.
Once someone does something to you that shows you can't trust them, heed the warning, don't overlook it. You can keep them as an acquaintance, but not as a trusted friend.

Re: Orchiectomy Travel Companion, Richmond/Washington DC
I get what you're saying, and you make a really good point. Fortunately, nobody has shunned me for my decision. The problem lies in the fact that all my friends in the area work full time, and I feel selfish asking them to skip work to do me a favor. They need the income more than I need them to skip work. An attempt to weed out lurkers is why i'm starting early. But in the end, if you want something done right...do it yourself. So I guess I should revise my post to say, if there's anyone around Richmond or DC trying to chill or go to lunch or something...Hit me up.
