I am 60 years old. It has been approximately 20 years. If I don't take HRT my sex drive is non existent. Without hormone replacement I don't masturbate or even think of sex, With replacement it is quite the opposite, all think about is sex and find myself needing it a couple of times a day. It has taken me almost 20 years to find the level of replacement that I can live with. I am straight and married and have a good sex life at this time. As far as muscular mass I find I have to work out regularly to maintain my strength. I am on low replacement and the lose of testicular function was due to a medical problem. I would like to be castrated completely to have my body fit the reality of my situation. I am a eunuch with balls and that just does not seem right.

- difficult to masturbate takes so much time it's hardly worth it. My wife can get me "up" more quickly, but sex is very, very infrequent. Maybe once a month if lucky. It depends on my wife who isn't that interested in sex.

Yes, because my sex drive made me do things that were dangerous, costly, and self destructive. I would lie, cheat, and go places that were unsafe just to satisfy my sexual desire. It's a wonder I'm still alive.

11. what mental/emotional changes have you experienced? Mentally I think more clearly, can concentrate and not be controlled by sex. Emotionally my wife thinks I'm more considerate, more kind, more generous, and compassionate. I even cry sometimes when I least expect too.

12. is sex important to you? Not really, though I like being intimate with my wife, that doesn't mean sexually.

13. if you could, would you get castrated again? Yes and sooner.

14. advice for eunuch wannabee's? Don't do it yourself, seek professional help now. I could not control my desire and it got the best of me. I bled heavily and had to go to the ER. Embarrassing, to say the least.

I had little choice. I had injured my testicles and it was very painful and the testicle was non-functional anyway. It was done so that I don't have to be on pain management the rest of my life. I suffered for more than 8 years. I'm happy to be pain free. Actually, I do not miss the testicles and I opted not to put implants.
