This is contrary to just about everything I have read on the subject. Surgical castration and loss of testosterone supply comes with a host of potential mental health issues, especially if done for the wrong reasons. A large number of surgical eunuchs report severe depression after the op. One must be very sure that they are going for it for the right reasons, ie not for a sexual fantasy.

I was very relieved when I finally was able to get my surgery. I had no problems whatsoever. But however I may be slightly different in that they were not putting out much testosterone on a consistent basis to begin with since I am XXY. Being an accidental eunuch I've found that the physical lack of testicles isn't a problem for me. I've had my ups and downs, especially the first year, but can live with it. To be quite truthful, it's actually very comfortable.

However, there is a stigma attached to being a eunuch. I look and act as male as anyone possibly could. But I'd prefer that the neighbors, and the rest of the community for that matter, not know about it!

Why is it any different from having your gall bladder removed, or your appendix, or losing a finger. Just body parts that you can survive just fine without, but for some reason a man without testicles is this weird taboo thing.

I am surgically castrated and off of hormones. I can go for many months without any kind of sexual gratification. My libido is 90% lower. Good luck on solving your problem.

I am not surgically castrated, but I was chemically castrated for a few years, even when I was on a high of 300mg of Androcur per day I still had a good sex drive, none of my Girl friends ever knew unless I told them, but my semen was clear and very watery. most thought I'd had a vasectomy. One thing fore sure I lasted a lot longer, which my girlfriends loved. And when I did cum, it was mind blowing. One thing I did really notice was when I worked out on a regular basis my sex drive increased. But everyone is different, I wanted to be chemically castrated, and found the whole thing a turn on. What I was getting at, poorly I guess, is that those who have become eunuchs at their own desire and have prepared themselves for what to expect, both mentally and physically, seem to have far fewer issues with the transition than those who are forced into it for the above mention reasons. Yes, there are going to be those that have problems with depression but understanding the result and having a positive outlook and expectation is of great benefit in making the adjustment. I agree that if a person expected the outcome to be a certain way then they are more likely to attain the expected result. Yes, there are consequences of being eunuch and a subject must be fully informed and prepared for those consequences prior to taking that step. Unfortunately there are thousands out there that go kicking and screaming into the surgery as a solution other medical problems and, I believe, have a greater tendency to have more problems adjusting. There are also those who, because they are informed, take the step and regret it later because they are not prepared mentally and physically for the changes they are going to have to make. Sorry for the rambling. Just my thoughts from reading many posts over the years. I have been a eunuch for several years now, both on and off HRT and have had none of the issues some speak of. Lucky I guess.. or maybe I knew what I was becoming. Don't know... Interesting discussion...

i was 38 when i was castrated

i masturbated or had sex 1 or 2 times a day for almost 20 years

and impregnated my wife 7 times thru our birth control

after i was castrated i stopped masturbating completely and had sex with my wife 2 times a month..as she got older we have increased that to 6 times a month and she masturbates a lot

and i didnt get her pregnant anymore which made her happy

she hides it from me ...so i dont know how often..now that she is in her 50s she wants sex a lot

i have lost complete interest unless she seduces me

There is no certain libido reduction limits. You never know how castration will affect you. Every person is different. You may loose all the libido, still most eunuchs are able to have erection and orgasms while the need is very small. Lets say if you masturbate 1 a day now then after castration you might do it once a month. But remember, it is very individual! Sexual activity after castration is mostly driven by a partner.

You must be warned of possible self image and mental problems after castration. Mental problems are most serious possible problems for new eunuchs. For that reason relatively short chemical castration is a good option, to have inside look, what it would like to be an eunuch. You could stop it anytime and reverse the effects if chemical castration has not lasted too long. Too long chemical castration will equal surgical castration.

It could be that you will be sexually relatively active even after 30 years. It mean, that it could be, nothing is granted!

If you plan to start chemical castration then before you start I would suggest you to find someone you can trust and who could support you mentally. EA is no good for that, you need someone who you could meet in person or who could come to help to you when you call. Your best friend who is understanding your needs is the best choice.

Still, you need to make it clear why you need castration, what is the reason for that. After castration you might think differently, only there is no way to return.

First think you have to consider is that you can not reproduce anymore, this is the only irreversable thing, while you can have false testes and Hormone replacement. Is that okay if you never have children?

You need to be sure that you want castration with all the positive and negative side effects even after surgery.

It is now my personal opinion regarding age of castration.

I have read so many regrets 'why I wasn't castrated earlier'... At the same time I have read so many regrets like 'i did many stupid things when I was young' (not related directly to castration).

Do not rush things out of impatience, you might find yourself in unwanted situation. All decisions must be very informed. You must know what is waiting you after decision. What are the risks, what are the benefits.

Still, do not wait too long. If you wait for another 40 years, age will reduce your libido naturally, and there is no point to have castration, there is not so many gains anymore.

If castration is for you, then there is no point to postpone it.

Sad that there are no psychologists and counsellors for Male to Eunuch people.

You are awfully young to be considering castration. You have stated no reasons why you desire it. Far be it for me as a eunuch to discourage you if your reasons are sound and valid.

If you are answering some need to cease masturbation, for a religious reason, castration is not a good thing.

If you desire simply to be asexual, and have no interest in a sexual life, castration might be good.

If you think it will curb abnormal sexual appetites, that is most likely not the case. That is a job for a shrink.

Whether chemical or surgical, castration is serious business, and there is often no turning back. Think long and hard, and diagnose your reasons, and once you have, then look at your options.

At your age , I would say that you should try chemical for a while, and be really sure, before snipping the balls off. If you are positive after a time on chemical , then seek surgery.
