I was 204 at castration (July 27, 2007) and am now 210.5. This is down from 218.5, which is the highest my weight has ever been. Several things are worth noting: I'm retired and less active. I'm home a lot and nibbling is easy. I don't get the long walks that I did when I lived back in Pennsylvania. I like my own cooking. The dog and I both could stand to lose a few pounds by walking.

Currently, I'm not taking testosterone, although I have taken low doses for several stretches. If the testosterone has affected my weight I have not noticed any difference.

If, post castration, you're putting on weight, the equation is simple. Increase exercise, reduce calorie intake.

RIVER: That's a pretty significant gain! You should talk to a nutritionist or an exercise specialist. KANGAN: You're wise to address this now at a 13 pound gain, rather than later. Good luck guys.

Hi, i was chemically castrated 4 months ago, and have my 4th injection on monday, ive put on about 17 ibs and have a spare tyre which looks horried and my left boob is getting more fat around it more than the right one, i also feel a bit weeker and my whole body aches at times, ive got a rowing machine comeing soon , so maybe a good work out on that might help, along with some long walking, i eat well and good food, not junk, i do drink red wine every night about half a bottle, maybe i should cut back on that ?, my legs seem to get tyred and feel weaker ,

For me, the zoladex is sure working. Testosterone 0,7

I have to fight the kilo's, but I guess I am lucky. 7 days a week delivering newspapers, getting in and out of my car about 200-250 times a day, walking (and turning) over 10 km/day. But I don't understand the hell what is happening.............

I have all my driver licences for 32 years now and no accidents at all. But as a real driver the last years I could feel many times that I was not that sure any more (getting old? with 50?) The last two weeks, this is changing all back to the good side. I can't believe where my energy is coming from. Reaction time is like twenty years ago. A lot of pain and itching problems were already gone with the androcur

So no complaints about the situation, only a strange feeling about; what was wrong?, why can testosterone do that to me?

As for drinking, long years I had my bottle of beer every day. Yesterday I had one bottle of special beer, but that must have been the first in two weeks.

It has just gone, why?

Thanks for all the comments. Helsinki is probably right. Before castration, I used to be able to eat anything and lots of it. All that has clearly changed.

My doctor suggested that I cut out all snacks (popcorn - potato chips - etc.) and also quit eating cheese. So now I am going around all day feeling hungry with no cheese, snacks or desserts. But I am losing some of the excess weight. Hurrah! I have been retired for nearly 5 years, but I still am very active so lack of exercise is not an issue.

T level is effectively zero since I am not taking any hormones at all. Just recently, I seem to have lost the abilty to have an erection, but it is no loss....

In my case, it is a little different. I maintain a stable weight, although I am a "zero-testosterone" eunuch. I had problems with weight as I had hormonal treatment for non-zero libido. In a few weeks my weight increased by 10 kg (20 lb). After discontinuation of all hormones it returned to normal, although I don't use any diet miracle. I spend almost a hour for sport every day and therefore I have no problem with weight. Of course, I think sometimes, I feel that I am too obese.

Good news! I have managed to cut my caloric intake and lose most of the excess weight in the past two or three weeks. It does take some willpower not to snack when you start to feel hungry! I'm almost back to normal (whatever that is...).

240lbs last week,

I think the cause is retirement, I don't have the stress I had when I worked.

:D RIGHT :D

River

Think you may add a few pounds after the MOM. ;)

Kangan (imported) wrote: Thu Jul 09, 2009 8:58 am For several years before I was castrated, my weight was stable at 150 lbs. Eight months later my wieght is now 163. This is the heaviest that I have ever been in my life! If this keeps up, I'll be 180 by Christmas.:(

Already I am noticing the effects of the extra pounds. My waist has acquired a "spare tire" and I cannot walk as far or as fast as I used to.

Clearly my diet needs to change. I don't drink alcohol or sodapop. I don't smoke. And I rarely eat "fast food." I have cut out all snacks like potato chips, but my weight is still increasing. HELP!

This is the "new" Kangan, 6-years later. I have my weight under control - back to about 150. The diet change worked.

Congratulations! For me, diet and exercise is a daily job to maintain a normal body weight. I knew this before castration and made up my mind that although I wanted to become a eunuch, I certainly did not want to look like one. I am more physically and mentally fit now than I was beforehand.
