Should I see a doctor?

I’ve never seen a doctor about my prostate before. I don’t know why, but it just really freaks me out. But I’ve been having some lower back pain (I work in an office, so no strenuous work) and I’ve been peeing a lot. And lately it’s kind of hurt when I’ve peed. I’m a little worried, but I’m still working up the courage to go see a doctor. Meanwhile, does anyone know of any prostate pain relievers I could try to see if I really do have a prostate problem. I figure if the prostate medicine works, than I have an enlarged prostate. I did a little searching on the internet and found ADS REMOVED that I think could be good. I really am working up the courage to go to the doctor, but in the meantime, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would highly doubt anything to do with prostate given your age. I would be concerned about diabetes issues. Get the fuck over your fear - it is irrational. Go to a frigging doctor. A couple of blood tests and finger up your ass should give you all the answers you need. Get over yourself - your fear is about you, not the doctor.

Making a diagnosis yourself, or just waiting for it to go away is dangerous.

Sounds like it could be a bladder or kidney infection, kidney stone and/or sand, or a sign of diabetes. Frequent and especially painful urination is nothing to mess with - go to a Dr. NOW and have a urine test. All you have to do is pee in a cup and then let the Dr. take it from there.

It's not all that unusual for guys to be a bit squeamish about getting the finger up the ass. I'd imagine they don't want to do anything that's associated with 'being gay', but like both kristoff and Paolo said, go see a doctor NOW!

About 6 months ago, I went in for a physical; I had some diabetic symptoms, and sure enough, when my doctor tested me, it turned out that I was Type II diabetic (and probably have been for some time). He put me on a couple meds (Metformin/Glipizide), and it's brought my blood glucose level down *significantly*! I check my glucose level at least once a day, and usually more; the blood sugar meters are fairly easy to use - just prick the side of your finger (less nerve endings there) with a little spring-loaded lancet (much better than the old lancets), scoop up a drop of blood, and the tester does the rest!

Along with the meds, the big thing to manage diabetes is to control your food intake. My doctor sent me to a diabetes management class, and they taught me how to figure out how much food I could eat, and what kind of foods are best for a diabetic diet.

It's *already* pretty much second nature for me!

You could have a STD (sexually transmitted disease), simple urinary track infection, bladder infection, or any one of quite a number of things that can happen in that area of the body. You only have 2 things to fear: 1) Yourself in not seeking a medical analysis and 2) The Doctor's invoice.

GO, see a doctor. Fear won't go away until you know the truth.

Fear of doctors is common but totally silly and stupid. Get on the web search for nearby clinics and select a doctor. If its all about the DRE look for doctors with small hands.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!

Actually, I too don't like doctor visits because I seem to have a hard time convincing the doc there's something wrong with me, as I look so healthy all the time. And it's damned aggravating. Yet, my girlfriend has no trouble going to a doctor because any little thing she says, the doc believes her and gives her good treatment. Maybe it's a woman thing, who knows.

As for prostate, at only 30 years of age, I had a pretty bad prostate infection that was anti-biotic resistant. But I found that eating a little garlic a couple of times per day kept it from becoming too severe, until finally, I developed a resistance to the infection and got over it.

I visit an internist, a urologist and a neurosurgeon. I would have more doctors, but I do a very good job of managing my diabetes.

Believe me, doctor visits are not all that much fun. I also know when I have to go to one.

Dominique, you need to make an appointment asap. Do not fart around with this. You could have something as simple as a UTI or something much worse. You need to find out what is going on. Pain is nature's way of telling you that you need to make a doctor rich.:-\

Hey everyone, thanks for your concern and advice. I am getting over my fear of doctors, and I've scheduled an appointment to get myself checked out. In the mean time though, I ended up trying out the AD REMOVED because of my friend's strong recommendation. Has anyone else tried this product before?
