Does anybody know.
If you just remove one testicle will the levels of testastarone fall any. I am trying to control my sex drive, and this would be one way to do it. I am looking at other options. One is penectomy, but I would want to know what if any effects can be expected.

Re: Does anybody know.
The testes are redundant organs like the kidneys, eyes lungs and so forth. Many of the organs of the body have reserves if they do not have duplicates.
THe one that is left will get slightly larger and just take over the function. The levels may drop slightly for a time, but the one that is left will soon pick up the slack.

Removal of one testicle will not do much, if anything, to lower testosterone. What happens is that the pituitary gland would sense the lowered levels of testosterone, and increase the amount of Serum follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) to bring the level back up.
Now if you remove BOTH testicles, the same two hormones increase. However, without the testicles, only the adrenal glands respond, and even they will probably not be able to bring your testosterone levels up to much more then 5% of pre-castration levels.
