Sherry, it is a revealing story that you were told

As you know, most eunuchs today are advanced prostate cancer patients, who would rather curl up and die than accept the title and life of a eunuch.

The term eunuch is archaic and loaded with so much negative press that it is hard to be accepted as a eunuch. And sometimes it is hard to accept the reality of it within oneself.

However there are, I believe, certain powers that we have as eunuchs which we can develop and use, if we are willing to open ourselves to them. For example, I have found that when male friends finally crasp the fact that I am no longer a male, they tell me details of their lives that I would never have heard from them, if I were still a male (AKA a potential competitor).

I can now be a closer friend; a better, caring person to others than I was before I got castrated. And as a nonmale-nonfemale, I can be helpful to both men and women alike.

Hugs to you,

Is Nothingunderthekilt still on this list? He asked for Eunuchunique to post has question on testosterone here, but never actually responded.

Or did I screw up and misunderstand where that message was supposed to be posted?

My abject, humble apologies for not making it clear. I, who post under the name of "Andrew" here in The Eunuch Archives, am also <nothingunderkilt@aol.com>

I assume, of course, that this implies that nobody bothers to read our signatures at the bottom of our postings.

Which is why the medical profession, with the usual exception of Dr. Spector of course, does not use the term "eunuch". The noun they use is "castrate". I have a medical bracelet that says "EUNUCH" on the top, and on the bottom side states "Do NOT administer replacement testosterone. Contact..." followed by the name and phone number of my physian. But if I were in an emergency, the medical staff would still refer to me as a castrate, not as a eunuch.

Yup....I failed to read to the bottom of your email, Andrew.

By the way I share your interest in teh medical aspects of eunuchhood. Historicially we were supposed to live longer than the population at large. BUt do we still? It is too bad that we are largely invisible in society and that no one is collecting such data.

The data that women and eunuchs live 10-15 years longer then intact males comes from a variety of sources. The two most important reasons would be our resistence to prostate cancer and our lowered stress levels. But yes, it would be nice if some sort of serious, long-term, well-funded study were to be made on men in our condition.

Maybe this is just a case of sagging pectoral muscles.

You have me wondering if I should also have a medical bracelet. The last thing I would want is some hospital giving me testosterone.

😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱 😱

Or even better, maybe my hormone doctor (a general practitioner) could have a braclet written for me that says "administer estrogen only". I never thought about needing a medical bracelet just to keep the testosterone away.

It wouldn't hurt to have one. Maybe I need to look up the URL of the company that made my bracelet, since MedicAlert was reluctant to include that information.

Hmm, are you saying that if a guy was in an accident and taken to a hospital, they might administer testosterone to him for some medical reason?
