Recent Crop of Bagoas Stories

Post by JoaoGenerico (imported) »

I've really enjoyed the Sorcerer's story (http://www.eunuch.org/Alpha/L/ea_103603the_libe.htm) and absolutely *loved* the Conqueror's one (http://www.eunuch.org/Alpha/I/ea_221635in_the_w.htm) !

well, the story of the castrated count - http://www.eunuch.org/Alpha/C/ea_191725count_le.htm

I did like the storytelling and everything, but as a (sort of) swordsmand, I'd like to point out one little detail.

Rapier was not a flimsy duelling sword of a quite recent period.

Épée or a smallsword would fit the description in the story a lot better.

An old-school rapier fencing master would have stood a perfectly good chance against sabre,

most probably even when forced to use another sabre himself.

Should anyone want to read from real experts, instead of my ramblings, then http://thearma.com/ is the way to go.

Well, I just read the story myself and I really liked it, good story telling, good story.... well I would have liked to have read some sex scenes but this story was good enough without a sex scene.

As for the historical and technical accuracy or inaccuracy, I am sorry to say I myself have never learned fencing or any swordmanship, I don't know that I would know the difference between a cutlass and a sabre. I just know I liked the story.
