Ten Years

Post by Sherry (imported) »

Hello everyone,

Those of you who have been on eunuch.org for a long time (Paolo, Kristoff, others) might remember me. I have not posted anything in years, but I was quite active here 6 to 7 years ago, and before that I frequented the Usenet group alt.eunuchs.questions. I also maintain a web site at:

http://www.geocities.com/sherrylanina/SJC.html

It is hard to believe that today is already the tenth anniversary of the day I went to Dr. Spector's office for my orchiectomy. I still remember the feelings of relief and serenity as I got rid of testosterone forever. It took over 6 years after that point to complete my transition, but my new life has been worth the struggle, long waits, patience, efforts, and economic cost.

Now my tenth anniversary of my orchiectomy is another starting point in life. Today was my first day in my new employment. Last summer my employer shut down the manufacturing plant where I had worked for five years. I finished my associate's degree in computer science, then started looking for work last December. I feel very fortunate to have this job, even if it does pay less than what I used to make. Considering that they wanted me to start on the day exactly ten years after my orchiectomy, I feel that I was meant to take this job.

I remain grateful to my friends that I had here in eunuch.org, who supported me through my long journey.

🙏
Paolo

Welcome back Sherry and congratulations on what looks like a very successful transition.

Hope to hear more from you. This site needs more women on it.

I noticed the post of MoM in August. I could drive from my home to Minneapolis in a day, so I might make it up there and meet some of you.

I'm sorry to hear that Dr. Kimmel has retired, and apparently nobdy is replacing him, as he had replaced Dr. Spector when he retired. Transsexuals still have other resources, but I wish there were also surgeons who would provide orchiectomy for those men who would live a happier life without testosterone. I do hope another surgeon will soon pick up where Dr. Kimmel left off.
