I think I first found this site last October or there abouts, and I think I was drawn to the idea of castration purely out of morbid curiosity. Not that I have to worry about anything, I was born female so it has never been about me. Or has it? Maybe I identify with a castrated male, I don't know, but the theme frequently comes up when I write fiction, and I write a lot.
I guess I am drawn to the idea behind it, how there is a lot of history behind castrations and mostly the thought of why anybody would do it, or how somebody would react if it were done to them. Sex in general has always been a bit of a mystery to me, I think I identify as being asexual, so I've been curious about it without actually wanting to do it. I'm weird like that.
But anyway, in doing research with some of my writing, there are often questions that perk up when I write characters. I started this one story last October (the same time I found this website actually) that is based in a world run primarily on Eugenics, so one of the main ways to keep the 'bad blood' from breeding is to cut off their nuts. Of course, in this society, most men who get nutted don't choose it and it's definitely a shaming act so I'm writing from that perspective. I don't know if I will ever share this story or not (maybe, if I'm up to it, I don't think it handles any subject matter that will make this community blush), but I wanted to kind of get some feedback on some of the consequences and reactions that come from Castration and Nullification so that the characters don't act in a way that they shouldn't. I am by no means a subject matter expert on this topic.
So anyway, I thought I might ask some questions of some people who know more about it. I'd appreciate some feedback, or even some links to resources or other threads that may have discussed this already.
1) Any major differences to somebody that is cut before puberty versus after puberty? Feminizing, voice, etc?
2) How does becoming a Eunuch affect your sexuality? If you were attracted to women before hand, are you still attracted to women or are you mainly indifferent? Same goes for gay men? How is sex different other then lack of a sex drive? How hard is it to have sex? Do testosterone supplements make you horny?
3) Major body shifts after being cut, does it differ from person to person? I hear how you lose muscle mass, do some people thin up quite a bit while others gain weight? How common are man boobs (what's the term for this)?
4) About this Eunuch Calm I hear about. I hear eunuchs tend to be pretty mellow and chill most of the time, did this happen pretty soon after or did it take a while? Do some things still cause a bit of agitation and frustration? How is your attitude and work ethic? Do you just go with the flow, tend to be lazy, any personality traits that define you now versus before you were cut?
5) Nullification. Other then missing everything, is there any other differences that occur versus just losing your testes?
Anyway, I guess that about does it. I read some of the stories in the archive to kind of get an idea on some of these things, but I don't know how much they were embellished for fantasy purposes or what not. Any feedback is greatly appreciated, once again, thanks!
And no, in case you are wondering, I'm not interested in actually cutting a guy.

Re: Hello (questions for writing)
I'm pretty sure the correct term for "Man boobs" (although there is nothing wrong with calling them Man boobs) is Gynocomastia. There was a news story last summer about boys getting Gynocomastia from Tea tree oil and lavender oil, which are sometimes used in hair products for dry itchy scalp. If you do a search on Gynocomastia, I once found a doctor's site who specialised in plastic surgery for men with this condition. I was interested in this because when I was a young teen I felt that I had larger than normal breasts for a boy. I always kept a tee shirt on when swimming. I was very bashful. I was very skinny so the fat at my breasts was odd to me. Today (54yo) I still have little boobies which I atribute to good pectoralis muscles! I'm not so bashful anymore and I'm a nudist.

Re: Hello (questions for writing)
Thanks for the help! I was wondering about the eunuch calm I hear about, because I've got characters that end up protesting and getting quite angry, so I wasn't sure if that would work or not.
And thanks for the info on Gynocomastia. I had a boyfriend who had 'man boobs', which is what he called it, but he wasn't shy about it or anything. He was good natured by it and pretty comfortable with himself. I'll have to look that up.
Thanks for the feedback, I wasn't sure how well received I would be.

There are a few folks who claim there is such a thing as an "eunuch calm." Personally, I think it is bullshit. I know too damned many cantankerous members of the "nutless wonders" (as roomie calls us) club. I suspect most of the calm is just achievement of long held desires, nothing more. Look at the histories of the chinese and byzantine eunuchs - nothing overly calm there.
