I am very much against the use of a cutter. You would be much better off to get you some lidocain off the internet and a few hemostats and just do it yourself and call 911. You are going to need follow up care and you won't get that from a cutter. And taking antibiotics is no guarantee against infection. There are many stories here about the effects of later infection. Once you are in the emergency room you will be given care, even if you can't afford it or don't have insurance. But you won't be dead.

i have one thing to say about a urologist doing it

i went with a person that needed a doctor to do this for him to my urologist

i was allowed to be there during the procedure for support...it was done in a office with a electric cautery machine..under a local

the machine has a great advantage over any other method..no drains were needed and there was minimal bruising and swelling

he was up around in 2 days

the machine makes a huge differance

Cutemoff, I was in your position a year ago. I also was accused of rushing into it, and there was a consensus that it was just wrong for me. No matter how many people tried to warn me about the side effects it never really sank in, I had done my own studying and felt i didn't need to hear it anymore. I don't need to tell you how things will change, I am sure you are aware of the results. If I did give you any advise it would be to meditate on the ways your life will change, meditate on the permanency of his operation. Focus on yourself, think long and hard of it is right for you. If it is, then good luck with everything. May God be with you during the surgery.

Many people do "rush" into this discussion all too fast, and then find out too late that they have made the wrong decision. Very often people become depressed and suicidal post castration and do not want to live a life of regrets. Many people here responded to a recent thread where the outcome appears to be very bleak indeed. I did not respond to that thread as I felt her situation was well beyond my ability to counsel her. I hope everything works out for her but really there is no way to know since she has apparently left the message board.

The best strategy for dealing with a tragedy is to prevent it before it happens.

The questions and warnings you received about castration came from a place of regard for your well-being, and it is out of that same concern many people here are discouraging the use of a "cutter" as the potential for a bad outcome is very high. I don't know if cutemoff understands how castration will affect him or not but I am concerned about how he plans to get it done.

I don't know if cutemoff understands how castration will affect him or not but I am concerned about how he plans to get it done.

I am about in the same situation as he is, only thing, I found a chance to fight a way to an urologist (that battle I still need to win) I don't like the idea he is going for that cutter.

As for the regrets...............I am sure, if I am ever going to regret my decision, I WILL STIL HAVE THE NUTS TO TELL YOU ALL. That is for me, how about him, does he consider if he can answer like that
