Re: volunteers for castration research
You know that old saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."
Given that this link appears to be somewhere in the Miami, Florida (bible-belt) area... That really makes me wonder, you know. I have heard of fake "clinics" that are set up by hyper-religious fudamentalist that very conspicously try to appear like they offer abortion services, they advertise "family planning services," or "unplanned pregnancy options," they even will try to get locations close to real clinics that offer abortions so that they can better confuse abortion seeking women.
When I see the add on Craig's list, it just gives me the feeling that you are going to be setting your name on some bible-spammer's list. If you do find out that they are REAL, and not bible-thumpers, then do please let us know. On the other hand, if they are fake, well let us know about that too please.
P.S. I seriously HOPE they are for real!

Re: volunteers for castration research
I'd be less concerned about it being in the so-called "Bible Belt" and more about if they are a violation of the terms of Craigslist.
I sent a message from one of my alternative e-mail accounts. Let's see if I get a response. I have a pretty good BS detector for such things, so I'll probably be able to give a review fairly quickly.

i clicked on the volunteers tab
i never realized so much medical testing was carried on in miami that needed volunteers

Wouldn't the proper thing be Vasectomy not Castration? Generally speaking if you are talking population control...and anyone can get a vasectomy now.
Just saying...

Re: volunteers for castration research
It's an interesting idea though. Ever since the mid '90s when I started trying to find out about castration, my wife and I have thought that there should be a proper scientific study made. I would definitely consider volunteerg for such a research project. To be honest, I'm amazed that no one's managed to start one yet.

Re: volunteers for castration research
actually having compared both..i would take castration over vasectomy
both procedures kill drive ..just one more than the other..vasectomy makes some men quite ill where castration doesn't
i guess its all a matter of how it works for you
i think a study is a good idea
the choice should be ours..go to the doctor and have him do a orchiectomy or a vasectomy
We end up sterilized either way
when planned parenthood counseled me on the procedure..25 years ago..they made it sound like it would be great having all the sex i want and there would be no consequences..it didn't happen that way

Re: volunteers for castration research
A vasectomy more or less disconnects the duct that carries sperm from the testicals and has little or nothing to do with libido. I suppose there are a few men who've experiences a loss of drive but I think most men don't see that change.
I will tell you that years ago when I had mine done (before it became so popular) I did not understand the difference between vasectomy and castration.
