What do I need to make sure, before, during and after getting castrated?

I read somewhere (lost in my fading memories) that if a male has self-inflicting injurious behavior, centered on abusing his testicles, that some shrinks may suggest castration. However, I believe that the diagnosis had something to do with being a transgendered person. In other words, the psychiatrist diagnosed the man with hating his testicles because he was in fact transgendered. Anyone else remember reading something like this? I know that some transgendered males have gotten orchiectomies (castrations) to spare them them from the effects of testosterone and to help them change more quickly. I think it's also true that castration spares them the cost of all the female hormone drugs. Some psychiatrists may require that you dress like a female for six months to a year before you can get them to sign off on castration, others might allow you to have it done more quickly. Every doctor is different, but remember female doctors/shrinks are often more sympathetic and understanding.

That may be the more honest and direct way. If you are wishing to become a true Eunuch (No HRT) you are asking for a sex change. And speaking to a therapist about your wish / needs is never a bad idea. Look for one that does gender issues and see what they say.
