What do I need to make sure, before, during and after getting castrated?

If I have to pray during the procedure, I am either making the wrong decision or have choosen the wrong person to perform the procedure; or am I missing something more subtle? I dont intend doing it until I am happy with the person who's going to be doing it as I'm 100% sure that I'm going to have the procedure.

You have that right.

Choosing the right doctor (not just a random street cutter) is the way to go. I used Dr. Kimmel and he didn't do a very good job. It has taken me many long weeks to begin to heal up properly. Therefor, if you are going to use someone like that, prayer is essential!

it is very difficult to find a surgeon to do this

i had to settle for a vet that was very qualified to do mine

then again ..it was a vet i knew very well..and we took the safest approach possible

I really wish people would QUIT saying this. I had mine done by a Urologist 20 minutes away from where I live. I host a Yahoo group with others who have had theirs done by their local Urologists. I know of a number of people who have had it done by either

Dr Altar LA / NYC

Dr Reed Florida

and I even asked Dr Bowers (Colorado) to do mine (Before I got together with my local dr) and she seemed ok as long as I had some proof from a shrink that I wasn't some kind of a mental patient.

Yes, SOME urologists don't do an Orchiectomy for anything but cancer. Others only for a few things like Cancer or Orchialgia. If you have chronic pain make some phone calls and I think you will find someone to do it.

If we are talking about "castration on demand" yes, there aren't many other then Kimmel who do this but that is not the same thing.

Frankly I'm really shocked you got a vet to do surgery on you. They could go to jail AND loose their license.

I am getting more and more frustrated that there are too many people on here who just spew out what they have read no matter what the medical, ethical or facual basis of the information. I guess EA should be split into two - fanasy and none fantasy.

just try and find a doctor to do a orchiectomy way back then

We also did my castration a very safe way so she would not get in any trouble

i went to a urologist a year after she did the procedure ...the urologist figured my testicle atrophied from torsion...he was dumbfounded as to why my testicle atrophied other than the torsion explanation

finding the right urologist is work but well worth it

the urologist has to have the right mental attitude

i had the same urologist for15 years when i found the right guy..there were no females back then..he was completely comfortable with castrated men and did castrations for those that wanted them in his office

when he retired a while back i asked him for a referal

he suggested a new young female urologist....he told me the female urologists were completely comfortable with castrated men

My wife and i met with her...my wife explained how I was castrated to her and how it was done...the urologist had already read about it in a medical journal..examined me ..and has been my urologist for almost 5 years now

I run a fleet of female doctors now

i have 4 female doctors that take care of my needs

I find female doctors easy to bully around and get my way..male doctors get mad and tell me to find another doctor or freak on me all the time.

Yes, I think one of the moderators told me once that I should not get QUITE so uptight about some of the weirdness since the vast majority of members are not really Eunuchs or ever will be but are either posers, wannabes * and I think people who jerk off to porn about men being cut up.

There are of course a few that seem to really have "done it yourself" which I think is good to beware of. They read some of the Story section and see how fun and easy it is and figure they will jump right in and try it. Sadly at least one pretty nice guy that I met here botched his self surgery and later died from complications. Anyway, if your wondering about why some of us seem to be on high alert to your original post? Sorry. I guess to some of us it wasn't clear what you were doing or how you were going about it.

BTW for whatever its worth my Uro was male. Doctors are just... Doctors. I do have a female MD and trust me her sex does not make her easy to "bully" into anything. In fact she has been more hard on me then other doctors I've had and in my case this is a good thing. I'm in much better health and taking care of myself much better then I ever did before.

There are a lot of long standing members here who have everyone's best interests at heart.

It is really hard to get castrated in the UK. There are many of us who have considered the DIY route. Only the voice of sanity on EA has prevented me from having a go myself!

What is actually quite a simple operation can become mightily complicated, by infection, or the wound not healing, or the cords attaching themselves....... of which i am sure you are aware.

Sometimes we do crazy things in desperation or because of hormones, or the sexual fantasy taking over.

The guys here, just try to offer caring advice to one and all, which has probably saved a few lives.

I suffer from acute testicular pain an the doctors won't do anything about it.......

I agree that a small number of people on here (a) have my best interests at heart and (b) know what they are talking about. On the other hand, my perception is that most dont have my best interests at heart and do not know what they are talking about.

As for a simple operation - we are in agreement. As for the risk of infection, I agree that you are correct. A week on the correct anitbiotics however before and two weeks after the operation can significantly reduce that risk.

he would know if cauterizing the cords is or is not for your best interest and health

has he preformed surgeries before or presently , in your part of the world what dose a ( consultant urologist )

do , is he a qualified surgeon

it would be a lot easer if you could ask more specific questions

that way we can give you better answers the ones your looking for
