Hi,
I recently became a post-op transsexual. So would not everything that castrated eunuchs go through be exactly the same effects hormonally that I am going through? The only difference is that I was not only castrated, but also given a vagina, right?

Yes : most generally it should be the same
But remember every body reacts differently to loss of hormones
And some end up wanting or kneading HRT
In your case probably estrogen supplements
some M2F Do not have vagina,

In other posts you stated you will have surgery in January 2009. Sounds like you had it early. Did the hospital not prepare you with answers to these questions. Since you will be on hormones you will not experience some of the things that post op eunuchs experience. I would check with your surgeon.

Until you start taking some female hormones you should experience the same effects as any person that is castrated. Castration is gender blind. The effects are not different if you are a TS or male or asexual. Castrated person is just a castrated person. The amount of change will vary person to person and rate of change is different. So to your question is yes your changes will be just like every other castrated person.

Thank you for the replies. Yes, I did have the surgery one month earlier, about two weeks ago. Everything went well, and so far I am happy with the results. The doctors did prepare me for my changes. This was just something that I pondered in addition. Because I was not on any estrogen two weeks prior to surgery, I realized that when this surgery happened, I would hormonally be like the other eunuchs on this board, with the only difference being that rather than just being castrated, I was physically given a vagina as well. But that vagina is just a physical thing, and does not make me hormonally different than a eunuch.
So here is my next question. A week after my surgery, I started up again on estrogen. How do you think my added estrogen will make things different than what other eunuchs experience who are not on estrogen? In other words, what changes do you think the estrogen causes post-castration?

seems to me from things I have read, that those on hrt post op, will sometimes have more development since they have no T being made anymore(at least in the same volume as before SRS)and there is technically less conflict in the body so the E will have more effect than before,
it would be interesting to hear from the MtF post ops here and see if they back up what I have read , or have another angle on things:)

Were you taking or on an estrogen regimen before your surgery? If not, then with added estrogen you will most likely experience a change in emotions. Be prepared. Women can be very emotional over just about anything, and it's believed that estrogen plays a major role in this. As I understand it, estrogen alone will not produce sexual desire, there must be some adrogens, testosterone being the primary hormone of desire. If you're expecting sexual response from estrogen, it won't happen, you must add some testosterone to experience orgasm. This is from all that I've read, correct me if I'm wrong.

Your adrenal glands may produce enough Testosterone to give you a female mix of Estrogen / Testosterone. Some TS women don't have much Testosterone from the Adrenals and they have low sex drive or sexual orgasm issues.
You can Google the numbers but women have mostly estrogen and a little Testosterone. Males have mostly Testosterone and a little estrogen. As we age those percentages change and in fact aged men often have more estrogen then women but... Thats not really good!
Getting labs done a few weeks after your back on your HRT program is a good idea. Shoot for a proper female mix. If your Testosterone is low you can have a compounding pharmacy mix up a cream that can be used on the skin of vaginally to get you feeling right.
What you should shoot for (I think) is to feel "female" not "Eunuch." I assume you've been on Estrogen (And antiandrogen drugs) for at least a year? Otherwise I'm really surprised you got GRS. I thought that was part of the standards of care?

For me the estrogen post castration caused breast sensitivity and growth. Also enhanced energy and productivity. I feel more comfortable with my body, like its easier to blend in as a female. My mood seems to be better, sometimes uncontrollably high.
Also i no longer have a fear of my body deteriorating.
