Ashley,

I'm so saddened by your ordeal and I sincerely hope you'll be all better VERY soon.

It strikes me as odd that the MD most heralded as being the "Go to" guy has caused so much pain and other distress to so many of his patients. Perhaps it's a symptom of advanced age and he should have quit practicing long ago.

When I read of these events I'm all the more grateful that God decreed I be born a female!

Even more ironic to me is that of the four castrated persons I know on a personal basis, the three (Barry T. Eunuch, Houston Eunuch #1, and the Thai ladyboy,) I've "interrogated" all say that their castrations and recoveries went smoothly, quickly, and that recovery was uneventful and rapid.

Given that Barry and HE#1 were castrated by Mexican MDs and "my" ladyboy was castrated in some backstreet snipatorium in Bangkok, it seems strange to me that THEY all had nothing but positive things to say re their experiences.

To quote (with 99% accuracy,) the ladyboy; "Oh, he take my balls easy and quick! I was OK in just a few days. Have sex (she didn't say what and how) with boyfriend after ten days." Well, if that's all true, Kimmel seems to be the low man on the totem pole, skills and caring-wise.

As for current urologist, downl;oad and print some of the horror stories about Kimmel and bring them in. Get insistent he read them. Maybe then he'll get his head out of Kimmel's ass.

(How about that kind of talk, Blegajevich?)

I hate to just pile on but I agree. I had major league long incisions (inguinal) and these didn't take anything NEAR 6 to 8 weeks to heal. I really think that his doing surgery on demand is NOT worth having problems like this. In the future I hope people will seek out more mainstream doctors. This just can't be worth it and if your TS there are so many qualified people who do this WHY?

I just entered my first entry on the testicular pain forum and added a blog to describe my story. I didn't mention that my first testicle surgery (to remove an infected epididymus) was inguinal, not scrotal. I didn't even know that anyone would try to remove testicles through the scrotum.

Anyway, keeping on subject, time is running out for me and I need to either find a qualified MD to remove both nuts or go in to have epididymus removed from right nut.

So.....are there any verified qualified doctors in Canada? My insurance won't cover it anyway and I can't find a MD in the US to do what I need and what I want.

I really don't want to go to Mexico and I don't want to fly anywhere to someplace some country I don't know for something that could be life endangering.

I haven't had my castration yet but have had biopsies on my testes. An incision was made on both sides of the scrotum and each testicle was removed from the scrotum to be examined and a moderate piece (about 1 cc) removed for microscopic examination. Then the testicle was sewn up, the testicle was re-inserted into the scrotum and it was stitched up. The entire surgery on the scrotum was equivalent to a castration.

But the big difference was that my urologist made horizontal incisions rather than the verticle ones I see in virtually all castration pics save for ones done inguinally. The incision was done at the bottom of one of the horizontal wrinkles in the scrotum. This left a even and fairly smooth contour to sew back up while a verticle incision would have to contend with the wrinkled contours and trying to match things up. Each incision had a single thread and knot to make a single long and twisted stitch rather than individual stitches and knots. It was supposed to dissolve by itself but itching made me remove them after 12 days. The threads seemed pretty intact then so I have no clue how long they would have taken to disolve by themselves. Anyway, I am convinced that the horizontal insision is better.

You removed the sutures after 12 days??? Was there still a hole or was the surgical site(s) already healed? Let me know.

Thanks,

Ash

Maybe its because the scrotum is so plyable it needs to be stitched up? My radical was done with surgitape and the scars are fairly long. Maybe this really is the better way to do this???? 💡

It has been 11 years and I do not remember when I removed my stitches. I do remember that after having been castrated 12/06 I was still having drainage Christmas Day. The reason I remember this is because my sister's dog got a whiff of the drainage and would not keep it's snout out of my crotch. The dog had to eventually be locked in the basement. Almost outed by a dog. My incision healed first at the ends and healed to the center. The center finally closed after all the drainage stopped. I do remember the stitches were gone weeks before I was completely healed. I was not able to be inactive and I think that is why I had drainage for longer than normal.

Ashley, please see another doctor. You should not be having to go through all this agony.

Thanks,

No hole at 12 days, things were healing nicely, but I didn't try to stress it at all.
