The Pope is Taking Action
The ever progressive Roman Catholic church is to use psychologists to 'weed out' gay priests
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstop ... iests.html
Not that the Pope is going to take any notice of me but I would recommend that he canvas his clergy before he takes any action on this. The potential for a great shortage of priests does exist here.
However they haven't said anything about paedophiles. Could that be because his holiness doesn't know the difference? Or does he just want to make sure that he still has some priests left?

The pope had made a statement soon after taking office that he wanted to ban gay priests. That is when I decided to ban this gay parishoner from the church.

I read in the Time Magazine a couple of years ago that 75% of priests are gay and that the rest are probably peadafiles. The new popes name takes on a new meaning then.Benedick,He was a priest.Has there Benedick in his mouth or up his backside.I am still a recovering catholic. He should not have to look to far to find a bunch close by that need his counsoling.

Did you expect anything less from a man who's formative years were spent listening to anti-gay, and anti-Semitic propaganda? (http://www.lg-c.dk/uploads/pope-hj.jpg)

Am I really missing something here? The Catholic Church expects a Priest to never marry but remain celebate for life. I think that is an awfully hard nut to bite. I was told that they physically check a Priest to make sure he has testicles before he is ordained. Then you make him obstain from marriage and a wife. Expect him to be celebate for life. Am I missing something here. Then you become upset when they touch a child. Wow, the Catholic church expects far too much.

Re: The Pope is Taking Action
Keep in mind many of the rules in the catholic church are not from the bible but came in some cases several centuries later.
Like, Priests not marring because there was one case where the pope passed this hat and the keys of the city to his son the new pope.
Fish on Friday was to help the fisherman.
I am sure someone can add to this list.

There is so much that I do not understand of the Catholic Church. I have attended the Catholic Church for their communion many times and have choked to see everyone drink from the same wine glass. They carefully wipe off the lip area of each person. But ouch so unsanitary. Ouch.. Scares me.

I liked John Paul II. He may not have been especially progressive, but he looked like a kindly grandfather. You know, the type that isn't all that politically correct, occasionally spouts embarrassing things, but overall a nice guy.
This new guy though. From the first day, I've said that he looks like the Emperor from Star Wars. I mean really, would it surprise any of you to see him in a black cowl, giving instructions to Darth Vader?

If you look at the sex abuse cases in the US, the vast majority were not pedophiles. A pedophile is someone who likes pre-pubescent children. Most of the victims were teenagers 14-17.
That would imply that the problem leans more toward homosexuality than pedophilia.
I'm not trying to say all homosexuals prey on young teens, and it might be worth discussion as to how the current church laws push homosexual priests toward preying on boys they have access to, but let's still call a spade a spade.
