Someone here informed me that women urologists seem to be more agreeable (eager?) to accommodate someone who wants a oriechtomy. I don't know how many women urologists are willing to treat men; seems like they would mostly treat women and might be apprehensive about treating a man; ask around, referrals and who you know is the way to get what you want in this world.

It might help though if you are in a lot of pain, or you experience pain during sexual intercourse.....which ruins intercourse for you. The experience of pain is something that doctors can not run a test on, so if you say you have pain, they can not dispute this. If you have no testosterone anyway, and if your testes are painful during intercourse, having them removed would seem logical. if they are deformed and an embarassment and cause you to mentally not be able to engage in sex, that might be a plausible reason too.

Just not wanting them might not sit well with most urologists, but again, personal referrals from EA people might be useful.

I am currently seeing a urologist for treatment of an enlarged testicle (really large, heavy and painful) due to a hydrocel which has caused the epididymus to become inflamed. I was longing to cut the damn thing off myself just to get rid of the pain. But I could not bring myself to even ask the doctor about surgical removal as a solution to the problem. Chicken.

There are over a dozen things that can inflame, infect, affect the testes and a urologists job is to solve those problems and bring everything back to normal, if possible.

Perhaps if my current real medical problem does not go away after his treatments I might get around to asking THE question. In any event, due to other reasons, at least my testes are dead, numb, not producing testosterone or sperm, so I am half way there; I am hypogonatic but using some testosterone supplement to maintain enough T to reduce risk of osteporosis; right now I still have too much T as I have a slight case of libido which is a problem for me. Hopefully this month I will achieve a dosage that gives me a balance of good health with no-libido. From my research there are too many negative side effects of having T levels below 190 so my goal is 195 average (if possible ....castrated or not).

My Urologist sends me off site to get my Testosterone checked. No problem with me there.......well, it means two trips over there to get it done..........BUT it gives me a chance to shop at stores my wife does not want to go to (Tractor Supply and men/s stores). My Dr tells me the results when I ask.

P.S. Insurance covers my tests as well as my Androgel

I don't want to be a wet blanket on anyone but Urologists in general avoid doing Orchiectomy for anything other then Cancer. "some" make exceptions for pain but only after everything else is tried. Gender? I don't think there is any serious difference.

As to getting lab results. I've never had problems getting labs. They mail them out. If you want a copy of your medical records? All you need to do is ask.

Dr K is different. He clearly is not following the same script as your typical Urologist.

In the mail, I got the questionaire from the local urologist's office. It was all about do you experience ED, and how does it affect you, and what sex position works best, and junk like that. Turns out this guy just runs a shop where you can get Viagra prescriptions. I called back and told them to forget about my appointment for next week. They also wanted $250 cash up front just to see the doctor! I want to cause ED - not cure it!:D

Then I picked up the phone and confirmed my arrangements with Dr. Kimmel. Monday October 20th will be the day. The initial deposit check is in the mail as of 3pm today.:)

I have been injecting my testicles with vodka for some time. Both have become far less sensitive and the right one is small and firm. My regular doctor noticed it at my last physical and sent me to a urologist. Things there are still ongoing but he did order a testosterone and prolactin blood test. It took about 3-4 weeks to get the results but there were mailed to me- Testosterone 95, prolactin about 18.

I am sorry that this has happened to you. My uroloigst is top notch. I hope Dr. Kimmel is what you want and need. He sounds like a decent fellow.
