Will Prozac do the job

Post by MyWorld08 (imported) »

I have read some posts regarding the side effects of Prozac, mainly impotence and reduced libido. This is primarily what I am looking for - basically I want to be 'like' a eunuch without all the worrisome side effects such as osteoporosis and depression. Does anyone here have experience with Prozac? And if so, how do you explain to a doctor that NO you are not depressed, and YES it's the side effect of Prozac that you are after?

Thanks

You don't. The side effects are not the same for all users. The medication ought to be used only for its primary and determined purpose. Don't try to deceive your doctor.

Funny thing is that if you did say to your doctor that you are not depressed and want an SSRI for its side effects, you'd probably be thought of as in need of an SSRI for its primary purpose and prescribed one.

You are really taking some very large chances taking some very powerful drugs. You do not really want to mess with drugs that effect on how the mind works unless you really have to. You may not get erections and also be walking around in state of mind that is not as clear as before. This drug works different on everyone. You may want to increase the dose for the effect and really messing with your mind.

There are other meds that would do the same thing. Aldactone is one, I'm sure there are others.

Don't mess with drugs. You will only get yourself into more problems.

I agree with posters # 2,3,4,5 and 6 above. You are talking about brain chemicals that oughtn't be toyed with.

I'm no doctor, but I'd guess a man wishing to become impotent and losing his libido IS suffering some sort of depression.

Talk honestly with your doctor and let him decide your situation and medications. Follow his orders and see him regularly for monitoring of your condition.

I found Paxil does exactly what you seek for many, if not most men.

Paxil can accomplish 2 things: Make it totally impossible for you to orgasm; and make you feel really good about your lot in life. It is also used in smaller doses as an aid to those suffering from premature ejaculation, making them last longer in sexual intercourse. Your hormones are unaffected, meaning your body is fully charged with testosterone and you are totally impotent. Your masochistic side will have a field day. Because you are absolutely unable to come, any attempt at sex will only give you blue balls as your prostate becomes even more full with no ability to get rid of the load. You are miserable but the drug really makes you feel good about and enjoy your sexual inabilities. Many men cheerfully trade sexual activity for Paxil's sense of well being.

Paxil is an excellent cure for excessive masturbation.

Be honest and work closely with the doctor and never try self medicating with such meds.

Good luck and enjoy!

Thank you.

I had a friend who was on Paxil. He ultimately got a divorce because his wife was running around with other men. Paxil has some nasty effects too - once you start taking it, you cannot get off of it without a long withdrawal period of smaller and smaller doses. Be careful.

It caused me problems with libido and functioning. It is a good medication but it did negatively affect me.
