Good morning (and if I don't see you again, good afternoon, good evening and good night). This is my first post to Eunuch Archive. I am a 40 year old gay man who is interested in reducing (by A LOT) his sex drive. I happened to stumble upon this bulletin via Google, and here I am. I understand I have many options available to me, and I am certainly NOT going to rush into castration as the final solution. I would like hear others' experiences and thoughts about the subject. I am intrigued by the 'try before you buy' option of testosterone blockers and/or GnRH agonists. Maybe, all I need is a good strong anti-depressant (I hear those can cause reduced libido and impotence, too). Anyway, I hope to hear from people, and I promise to post around in the different forums.

Hello My, and welcome to the Archive.

I think you are already on the right track in that you need to learn as much as you can. There are many here to help you with that and they will give you the right information but remember that in final count the decision you make must be yours and yours alone. Castration is not for everybody, for me it was the right choice but I will try to talk you or anybody out of it if possible. The reason for this is that castration is final.

Take your time, learn everything you can, take it on a test drive for a year and somewhere down the line you will come to the right decision for you.

I suggest you start by using the search option and that will lead you to the specific area of your need. Word to the wise, not all contributors will give you the answers you are looking for and sometimes they may mislead you. I would hope not intentionally. Be wise, be prudent, and research thoroughly. Great people here. I am utterly amazed by how great they are.

Don't misuse antidepressant medications. For one thing, they don't always lower libido and they have other side-effects. I do understand why one might want to lower libido. I missed mine, but I understand from experience there are benefits from lower libido.
