Southeastern MoM

This first posting is to see who, or how many, would like to gather; and for considering the travel-needs of area members, giving them time to think it over.

I would like to plan for a MoM here in the Southeast, maybe Atlanta, but open to suggestions; depending upon those who are interested. I would prefer a city or venue near a major hub (like Atlanta, or Chattanooga), with easy access to major thoroughfares, as some members might want to use the airlines.

Atlanta is central to a lot of thoroughfares and venues, but rather congested all the time. It's my favorite city in the whole world for traffic . There are a lot of attractions, and points of interest, in the North Georgia/Tri-state area; for those who might want to make a vacation out of the trip.

I personally would like to use one of the state parks, here in the 'hills'; as most have excellent gathering-place-type facilities (pavilions/lodges/camp-sites) - and have reasonable fees. Plus, that time of year, they aren't too busy, and most allow pets (for those who like to include them - and yes, if you say so, I'll double-check). Two members have also suggested similar (camp-out/cook-out) and are offering $ help, when...but a restaurant/theme park is fine too. A cook-out would give some a chance to show-off some home-grown!

The proposed scheduling months are March through May, in case some prefer an outdoor event. So there's still time to dicker. We don't usually get Clothing-optional weather until May, and there are several Naturist camps in the N.GA area, for those who will!

Please make suggestions for City, venue (food/no food), indoor or outdoor, day-trip/over-night* - in your posted reply. If a Natural Wonder or Park is "cool", and you have a favorite, please don't hesitate to throw it into the hat. Just keep "We Might Need Privacy" in mind with any suggestions.

* - Please don't list your exact location in the public forums, but do give an idea of your particular traveling distances, special needs, or requirements, if you feel your circumstances warrant. Please don't let limited means or mobility hamper your desire to come. There's still time for some to arrange group travel or ride-share situations.

Chattanooga is a hub for what? The Chattanooga choo-choo?

I vote for Charlotte, NC. Easy air access via US Airways hub, close to mid-way between DC and Atlanta, and a potentially larger pool of actual eunuchs, should they desire to come (I won't identify who they are, so don't ask but I know of 6 in about a 3 hour drive and 3 or 4 more in a 6-7 hour drive of Charlotte).

If it's Atlanta, then the distances for the eunuchs I know of are going to increase to 4 to 6 hours for 4, and 7-10 hours for the outliers.

I'll be interested in what else others suggest, but I'm game as long as I don't have to drive 15 hours.

I'm in Memphis, TN. I'm all for a MOM in the Southeast. Just bring gas down to a half-way decent price and I'll drive in any direction.

I hear Memphis has a large airport. Especially large if you're a package.

It also has King Willie (http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Memphis) -- I'm sure he'd welcome a MoM. It has a pyramid too that isn't being used for anything -- maybe I can ask King Willie if we can have it there before the Bass Proshop takes it over. Also, if it wasn't for those jackasses in Detroit we'd hold the number one spot for city with most crime in America. DAMN YOU DETROIT!

I could probably attend as long as I am working between now and then. I like the idea.

Blacksburg Va here. Charlotte NC is close and would be great however i drive to atlanta in about 6 hours several times a year so that would alos be no problem. Would love to meet other members as well as fello eunuchs.

Considering the first few public posts, and e-mails, the Southeastern designation was in consideration of those who live in GA and surrounding states, but was not intended as exclusive.

Glad to see interests from those outside the Southeastern-states area, and by all means, the more-the-merrier. Atlanta was simply a known destination; focus-point. All are welcome, but this "1st gathering" will be in N.GA; exact city-township/location/facility to be determined after posting end-date. Hopefully at a comfortable spot where folks can have a conversation and be themselves.

Reminder; I am compiling a "short-list" of those who desire a ride-share, but you are still not stating area of need-vs-destination. Those who haven't, this will be necessary for 'dispatching' (hook-ups). Of course, you can post your particulars* on the Board, if you feel comfortable doing so. Private-message me otherwise.

Again; if special-needs considerations are desired, can't help if you don't state it*. I will not post private concerns, but will list/post something along the lines of; "a member in _____,__, would like to come if anyone can (yada-yada)", etc. Remember this is a 'Community' event. Once someone volunteers, then connection info will be passed-on. Publicly post what you feel comfortable doing*.

Please re-read the #1 post, and take the time to answer the suggested questions when you "Post a Reply", so others can use your "thoughts" as a consideration in what 'type' of gathering to have.

These things will help determine future gatherings, but that will be discussed at the gathering. Exact location will be posted by Dec 15th. All members posting (& messaging) will be contacted with directions after End-date.
