I was wondering, since extra testosterone in the blood causes the testicles to shrink, what happens when you take testosterone blockers??? Will the testicles enlarge to make more testosterone to try and get around the testosterone blockers??

Re: Size
With drugs like androcur, depo-provera have the effect of making the balls shut down. Thus the balls will also shrink.

Re: Size
Bobbie's right, but HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) will reinflate or enlarge testicles if they do shrink and if you want to get them back to size & function.

Re: Size
Such timing. What great info. I had just posted on my blog details about my experience with my right testicle getting as large as a small lemon. This after I missed a few doses of Testim. Maybe something else is going on in my situation, but maybe not.
I will re-start Testim tomorrow so maybe, with Luck, my testicle will go back to it's regular size........or smaller. Or maybe I may need to take HCG......where does one get that?
It is pretty wierd having such a large testicle, about twice as large as its original size, maybe larger. And with no sensation or pain in it at all.
PS: I guess my left testicle is neutral, non-responding, since it was damaged a long time ago in a bike accident, was operated on, and is pretty much of an embarassment and mess now. For over 40 years I have wished to heck that I could have this deformity removed and replaced with a decent looking and feeling prothesis testicle......but so far nothing

Re: Size
HCG is like LH something that will stimulate the testes.
You do not want to use too much though 250 iu every 3 days is what some Physicians use on patients with the need.
HCG is hard to come across though, perhaps you can talk with your Physician about it.

There are several possible explanations for a lemon-sized nut, some of which are quite scary (testicular cancer is not a rare disease).
Considering that, playing with hormones and seeing what happens may not be the better course of action.
I'd seek a diagnostic immediatly.

Re: Size
Bloated testicle / scrotum issue.
As mentioned previously after I started taking TRT my testicles shrank.
Then after about 6 weeks the right one got very big.
No pain, but a little sore after a long day.
A little cool pack in the groin calms it down + some Aleve.
Apparently the problem is a hydrocele, though ultrasound test will help confirm this.
It seems about as big as a lemon, but a small one.
Maybe more like a plum. I can wrap my palm and fingers all the way around it.
This situation makes the left shrunken one seem even smaller smaller smaller, practically non-existent. Wish it would just fade away, but no such luck.
Anybody else out there have any experience with a hydrocele. ????????
If it doesn't hurt, and there is no infection, and stops growing, it can be left alone, and you have one humongous ball, which of course will make you be known as Mr. Odd Ball.
From the web:
The main symptom is a painless, swollen testicle , which feels like a water balloon. A hydrocele may occur on one or both sides.
During a physical exam, the doctor usually finds an swollen scrotum that is not tender. Often, the testicle cannot be felt because of the surrounding fluid. The size of the fluid-filled sack can sometimes be increased and decreased by pressure to the abdomen or the scrotum.
There could be a connection.
TRT caused testicles to shrink, and shortly there after I get a hydrocele.
I have not yet found any medical documentation on a link between the two.
The experts should know.
Depending on the results of the ultrasound exam the hydrocele can either be left alone if there is no infection or pain, or it can be drained, or surgically removed.
The sequence of events, and suddenness of the bloating appears to be a strong indicator of a hydrocel, and probably not cancer.
If drained it could re-appear within a year, and if that happens, it would be surgically removed to prevent reappearance or complications.
Always something. It appears that if it is a hydrocele removal of the testicle is not a remedy (DARN ! ).
PS: As far as "playing" with hormones goes, (per prior post) my Dr. prescribed 1% Testim once a day. That took me from a 170 T count (below the normal minimum of 220) to a low normal of 250. I would prefer that I hover around 200 to 220, at the bare low normal minimum, so I am experimenting with the dose. The Dr. said try 1/2 tube a day, which I will do next week. It was just less messy and easier to remember using 1 full tube on M W F which I had been doing recently. This stuff is a tad messy, and damned expensive so if I can hover around 200+ on 3 tubes a week (or seven 1/2 tubes) it simplifies my life, keeps cost down and achieves my objective of having a very low T to achieve minimal sexual frustration, potentially reduced risk of prostate enlargement/cancer, yet enough for probably reduced risk of osteporosis. Obviously there is more to this than just a T-level, but one must start somewhere.

Re: Size
All this is beyond my experience. I do recall that my testicles shrank and I think my penis did as well when my testosterone level was low. I recall how much I did not like this, though I am not certain why because my libido faded.
I recall that my father had a testicular infection after prostate surgery. He was in pain and his testicle was swollen. I am trying to recall whether he lost a testicle but I just don’t recall. But that is not what you are discussing.
I do know that I would consult a urologist or other doctor. This sounds serious.

The emergency consideration here is Torsion Testicle. This is where the testicles have twisted around themselves inside the scrotum, cutting off blood flow. It sounds like that problem ahs been ruled out.
