They put a catheter in me during the operation. Pulled it while I was still zonked out so I only knew it was in because I was a tad bit sore and the nurse told me why.

Pain wise it depends. When I woke up the first time I was on an IV and felt FINE.... Took some drugs for the next 3 or 4 days used lots of ice and just had a veg out vacation. The second time my IV was pulled by accident so I woke up in pain. To be honest not r e a l l y that bad with an ice pack and not moving around so I tried to not be quite do drugged out the second time. In reflection I think I would have taken the drugs and just relaxed and not tried to be a tough guy.

Take your pills! Use lots of frozen peas or ice and never ever laugh or sneeze without leaning forward! OUCH OUCH OUCH!

When I had my surgery the doctor ordered a catheter simply because he felt it prevented any possibility of infection from urine. It was not painful either going in or being removed but great care was taken to see that it wasn't. As to the surgery, post op there was some minor pain that, under other circumstances I would probably have treated with Ibuprofen. However, as I was in hospital there a low level pain suppressant ordered and I was given, but did not use, a prescription for post surgical pain when I went home. As with others, the most important drug I took was a preventitive for infection. Within three days I could easily walk about, shower-no baths which I do not routinely take anyway-and was cautioned not to lift anything heavy. My scrotum was removed and the Plastic Surgeon who did the closing-and did an amazing job-was insistent that no more than routine activity be tried.

I really feel that the time and effort that was expended in advance with doctors and that it was done in a hospital kept whatever "pain" I experienced to a minimum. Some years back I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed and that was far more painful. I was so carefully prepared and advised as to what to expect that virtually anything that might have caused pain was obviated. When you know what the potentialities are they can be anticipated and dealt with. On your scale, perhaps a 2-3.

castroboi, I was almost exactly your age when I had my testicles removed by dr. spector of philly. the pain was only really bad with the anesthetic shots and some minor achiness for a few weeks after. I also had a hard swollen mass in my scrotum for over a month after the surgery. the worst part of being a eunuch for me is the uncomfortableness of having two giant breasts and hip fat like a woman. I had my testicles removed to help curb the extreme but natural desires and thoughts that i felt were impure toward women. i was a religious nut and studied bible everyday with a group of about 15 guys and girls. they were not in favor of my surgery. but i was so obsessed with a solution to my impurity and in my eyes, god had not provided me with a wife, so i saw this as the opportunity he was giving me. If i could have some scientists grow some for me in a jar with stem cells and reattach them now i would. because i have been married for 5 years and my surgery has put a toll on our relationship because we cannot have our own children and have been through several adoption flops and even some other not so conventional baby gettin flops. I heard recently on the radio that scientists are now thinking that humans brains' usually don't finish the forming of their ideologies and personality traits until late twenties, early thirties. I suggest you sit on it for at least 4 years before you do this surgery. I know you're nineteen and you have been told you're just a kid your whole life but take adulthood in very gradually before making permanent decisions. much love for you -abrahame

Yeah abrahame I heard the same thing, I wonder if we can get rid of teenage drivers since there brains are not fully developed 😄 Oh and don't your worry abrahame scientist are getting closer to being able to grow body parts every single day ;)

Considering I had all four wisdom teeth removed so if the pain is less than that I think I can stand it :)

Don't be offended but I was 19 once. You don't know what you don't know. And you won't know until your older. Wiser? I ahh... don't know... In my case thats a serious Maybe. ;) What I'm trying to say is while I don't know why you want this I think that if I were able to know what I know now at 19 there are only a few reasons I would do this surgery. Be VERY careful of what you wish for and very sure the effects are what you want. You can't un-Castrate yourself. If you have a serious medical need like Cancer or Orchialgia etc sure... Any other reason PLEASE put it aside for a while.

Please don't take this wrong at age 19 you will have a hard time getting a Vasectomy (Same reason)

If you ever want to talk? Please feel free to PM me.

As English is not my own language I'm not that good expressing what I feel. But I wanted to underline what Mrt told.

Be careful.

Take Care !

Yeah Mr.T that's why I am here, I would really hate to screw things up or you know take that really long nap or something. Oh and I promise I won't have the surgery done for at least a few years ;) I still have lots of research to do :)

Thanks everyone 🙏

Good! I think no matter what your talking about medical wise its very smart to be as informed as well as you can be. I know we are not doctors but if we have say High Blood Pressure its smart to read up and understand whats going on. What the drugs we take do. How we can best deal with it in the long run and so forth.

Castration for any reason is serious stuff. As my pain doctor said, "Understand that this is an Amputation and things can go wrong. Even if this works perfectly this means life time changes. If things go wrong as they often do there are no do overs."

Explore those reasons in full. Understand the aftermath. Its really not just being sterile and asexual. Keep asking questions. Do you research. Work with your doctor(s) and don't feel locked into any course of action.
