Re: Eunuch Archive Prayer Campaign - Hurricane Gustav
Hi Blaise,
It is good to see you posting again and know that you are well!
When I heard about the extent, and cause, of the power outage I thought it might be much longer before you were able to write. I read New Orleans is still having problems with services in many areas.
Air conditioning makes life much easier in the South and refrigeration is pretty essential! I am glad you have both now, even if you are still in Baton Rouge.
Hugs,
Danya

Blaise, I am so glad to hear you made it through relatively unscathed. As much as I hate the heat and humidity and not getting enough sleep, your ordeal sounds like my version of hell. I'm glad you are back with us!

Hey Blaise. I'm working in the just south of Baton Rouge for a few days setting up base camp stuff. If you are in need of anything I would do what I can to help. You can PM me your phone number if you get a chance to read this any time soon. We can be friends even if our politics are different. Let me know if you need help!!!
I have driven around alot of the area south of Baton Rouge and toward NO and there is still a lot of tore up stuff. It's interesting to see the local news here which is still covering it contiuously while the national media has totally forgot about it. There are gas shortages, and lots of places are still out of electricity. I was lucky to have a hotel room that had cable and electricity last night as that is a real luxury down here at the moment

Your observations intrigue me. I drove all over the region after Hurricane Andrew in 1992, but not after Katrina in 2005. Hurricanes are hard to photograph. Even the images of New Orleans after Katrina seem not to desplay what one experiences. Thanks for the comment.ramses (imported) wrote: Mon Sep 08, 2008 1:09 pm Hey Blaise. Why not take George Carlin's advice and pray to Joe Pesci? It worked for him about 50% of the time, or so he said in a VERY funny stage appearance that is available on YouTube.
