What is your favourite opera?

La Boheme is my favorite, but if I were to think of an operatic piece while fantasizing about a penectomy (which I don't...but if I did) it would have to be something by Wagner..."The Flight of the Valkiries" or maybe something less bombastic, like "The Flower Duet" from Lachme. But why do you ask?

Opera's OK...'cept for all that yelling.:D

The Difference Between Opera and Operetta:

At the end of an operetta everyone is laughing.

At the end of an opera everyone is dead. (An exception: Everyone's fairly healthy at the end of "Gianni Schicchi". At the terminus of "La Boheme", "Turandot", or Aida, however...not so much.)

I'm a Gilbert & Sullivan Girl myself. Just call me "Buttercup".

That's not me. I'm taller, have bigger bewbs, and I'm of legal age.

Opera is fun. It is a popular art form even though we foreget that fact.

Everyone is alive at the end of Le nozze di Figaro, ossia la folle giornata,

Così fan tutte, ossia La scuola degli amanti, and Die Frau ohne Schatten.

The suffocation in Aida amuses me because everyone sings so loudly.

Many of us love La Boenme. How could one not love it!

Patter songs are fun to a point! But I reach that point quickly!

I am fond of Die Fledermaus. There are moments when the characters might want to be dead.

The question is a serious one. I know that a few people don't like opera but many folks do. I have found that some other people with eunuch interests share my interest in opera. I saw my first film of an opera in the early fifties. I did not seem first actual product of an opear until I was at university. My father discovered opera from a class in junior high school.

Opera isn't really my cup of tea, yet I still fantasize about having my penis cut off. Does that make me weird? :nutsycuck

Il trittico Gianni Schicchi

by Puccini

"O Mio Barbbino Caro" as sung by Anna Netrebko is one of the most moving versions I have heard.

Right now I am listening to "sempre libera" a collection of arias by Anna Netrebko. I have no musical training and I learn about operas with discs such as this one. I also have cd's by Bryn Terfel and Andreas Scholl, etc. When I hear a piece that I like I then purchase the complete opera. The education is going slowly. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

As far as having my penis removed no need. I oft forget it is there.

For a castration - The Three Penny Opera, of course with Mack the Knife at its helm...

Sorry for the mixed metaphors there...
