A Par-tay There WILL Be!

Post by FianceeUvBigGuy (imported) »

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, USA!

I wish all a joyous and safe Fourth.

We're all geared up for our Fourth Of July fling. Actually, it started as a small project but the bosses escalated the thing. Well, it's their money!

We'll be entertaining about 70 invited guests here at the place...food, a real 22-piece brass band playing patriotic music and other tunes. There'll be booze, swimming, tennis and badminton (whatever happened to GOODminton?), and a few carefully managed pyrotechnics.

We'll feed and "water" the band as well, and we're hosting some of their families and dates too so that the band members can be with loved ones for the Fourth. That brings the body count to over a hundred and twenty, believe it or not.

A limo has been retained to bring six(?) wounded and recovering soldiers from the post and take them back circa 2AM...that's the best part of all!

All food and stuff will be catered, 'cept for some special seafoodish items we'll prepare here.

NOTE: I am NOT paying for any of this. Ash(leigh) and I are playing hostess and providing the venue. The bosses are footing the bill.

Fun item: In the early PM, we are having TONS of ice blocks placed in the shaded Koi pond (The Koi are being farmed out to a friend's pond.) We're going to float a bunch of watermelons in the cold water...saves space and mess. Barry T. Eunuch's idea, BTW. A adjoining neighbor's horses (3) will get the rinds...they love them.

The final touch is a HUGE Stars and Stripes that'll be raised, with the band playing "The SSB", at the start of the fun (7 PM), with floodlights illuminating the Flag all night.

There will be three CLEAN Porta-Potties discreetly spotted about the premises. The pool cabana has a changing room, toilet, sink, and shower too. This way we won't have folks wandering in and out of BG's "big house" or our little nest.

NO Karaoke!

Thank God for the country life...plenty of parking!

I'll be one tired bunny come dawn on the 5th!

Have a joyous Fourth!

Update!

The party went off without a hitch. We thought there was a problem when two deputies showed up around 11 PM but all they wanted was to compliment the lighted display of the huge Stars and Stripes and to mooch some eats...which we gladly provided.

There were no fights, drownings in the pool, deposits of vomit in traveled areas, comas, outbreaks of hives or shingles, nor were there any totally asinine attempts at parasailing from the roof. In short, it was all good.

I got to bed at 6AM and arose from my casket of Transylvanian soil about an hour ago, showered, helped prepare brunch (see: Leftovers!) for the sleep-overs, and here I sit.

I'm aglow with the satisfaction of having been part of celebrating my beloved adopted country...Well, America adopted ME, thank God.

I'm smugly happy with the way the party went. I wish you all could have been here with us, especially my "pets"; Moi, Uncle Wolfie, Tuggie, A-1, and many, many, others.

I'm darned glad the Fourth of July only comes once per annum, but I'm already planning the first "watch party" for the football season.

Gooooooooooooooo, SOONERS! Oklahoma U. all the way!

Luv to all,
