Libido question

Post by Kangan (imported) »

It has been nearly a year since I castrated myself, and I find that my libido, while diminished greatly, is still there.

How much of one's libido is hormones and how much is in the brain?

The brain is a very powerful sex organ. The amount it plays in each person sex life varies. There is no way to measure it's effect. Your adrenal gland does produce some testosterone. So you do have a small amount still running through your body even with out the testicles.

Perhaps a lobotomy would be the answer?😄

Have you tested you T- levels to make sure your clamping was 100% effective?

Not yet, but I can tell that it worked. My penis is shrinking. I've lost almost an inch in length!

I have some thoughts that are not scientific of course. But I've got this impression over reading many many real life experiences. Plus my own experience before puberty and during it.

To me it seems that there is some additional chemistry in our bodies and brain that is involved in creating libido. We do not know exactly what is it. The exact mechanics how libido is created is not known.

It looks like Testosterone is a fuel for that system. That system may work on very low T levels. And it may not work at all if T is low. It varies person to person.

Also, it looks like this libido system is more sensitive to T at early ages.

There are some facts that support my theory.

1. T levels drop very fast after castration. In matter of hours level is half of normal. Libido won't vanish that fast. It varies of course, but it will take weeks.

2. Some people become completely impotent after castration. Some can have even intercourse time to time.

Some have libido even before puberty (like me) and some have none. Still there is always some T in the bloodstream.

3. High T levels make this Libido generating system less sensitive. If you look on average T levels of normal man through his life span, then the highest T levels are reached at age 18-20. After that T is dropping very very slowly during twenties. It is almost level. But if you compare how fast and involuntarily teenage boys can get hard and 30 year olds then there is significant difference. (of my own experience) At the same time there is no big difference in T levels of 16yo and 30yo.

So there must be something in our brain chemistry we do not know yet.

Only way to know if fully successful is blood test. Major damage can greatly reduce function but not fully stop production of testosterone.

My libido took about a year to disappear mostly. For most of the 1st year I still had a strong sex drive. Then around month 12-14 post-castration it pretty much disappeared completely -- that is unless I was around someone who aroused me. :D

I guess I'll just have to wait and see..... I am getting a T test in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.

Being on TRT Gel, I am at a larger dose and I am 24, it is quite similar than before, I am using a compound TRT which is micronized Testosterone it is not patentend so it is natural. It has been working great for me. I still think more exists to TRT than testosterone.

My libido has greatly improved however I have a difficult time having involuntary errections as before I would quickly get them.

Hope the Physicians continue to help me, so much improvement has occured and I am very happy with the outcome, but still have other views as you need to make sure estrogen is not too high when on TRT the sensitive assay for men. Various things need to be done to correctly administer TRT to a patient and sometimes it can be difficult.

As for my my Physicians have been trying to get me tuned for 6 months and I thinnk I am however I got some gel on the blood draw spot so will have to retest soon.
