taking the testosterone replacement therapy had what effect with you. i am similar to what you say, a non surgical eunuch. my balls have shrunk to about 1/3 of what they were and i doubt they are functioning. this started with me about year and half ago. i am adjusting to the changes.

Hi, inphx,

First, I feel MUCH better. I am not so very tired anymore. The fog has lifted to a great extent. There are still days when I just can't seem to keep a thought going, but it is getting better. And I have lost a lot of weight. Could never understand why I was gaining and nothing I did seemed to stop it or get rid of it. In the last year it just seems to melt off. Realizing that I went for probably five years or more without an erection, the ones that I get now are not all that great. They last about 15 minutes and are not all that firm. I still have not gotten the nocturnal erections back yet. Ejaculation was also gone is now improving, but still difficult and sometimes will not happen at all. The first erections that I got last year were very painful. I was expanding things that hadn't been used in years. As near as I can tell, I have lost about 1/3 of the length I had before and it wasn't all that great either. I am doing 10 grams of AndroGel a day and should get the report on my last blood work tomorrow or next week.

Did that answer your question? or is it too much info?

Since I found out nuts had quit working and I started TRT in Jan 2001, I have not kept it a secret at home or work. I believe that they had stopped working about 8 years ago and had started to shrink. When I started the TRT they were about half their former size and are now soft, mushy and about the size of a jellybean. I didn't like the 'eunuch calm'. I had no energy and felt as if I was in a fog all the time.

Thank you for your comments. I find it interesting as to how different eunuchs react differently to the mental aspects of our condition. Eunuch calm or eunuch fog? I think this may have to do with whether or not you are a eunuch by choice. For those of us castrated to control excessive libidos, the resulting calm is something to be desired. For those like you, eunuchs not by choice, I can undertsand how this may seem to be a fog, especially since energy levels do decline.

i have been an eunuch i gather for a year or so. the loss of male sexual abilities doesn't bother me as prefer becoming asexual at my age (i am older than you). i am growing breasts which has become my most satisfying erogenous area. i am calmer than i was. i do find the loss of energy annoying but hard to differentiate from being an eunuch or just getting older. i am not taking any hrt.

Andrew,

I think there is a difference between the fog and the calm. In my experience, the 'calm' was just that. I did not get excited easily, didn't care if the house repair work was done and really enjoyed my easy chair. The fog was just that to me. In 2000, I started to work in our shop planning department and had to learn to plan and route jobs on a PC. About 15 yrs before, I had done that job, but it was all written out then. I had a very difficult time remembering the steps and procedures. It was a struggle every day. This was a year before I found out about my low T and started TRT. Since the TRT, new concepts do not seem to cause me nearly the problems as before.

Well, I wonder if this is another of those YMWV (Your Milage Will Vary) aspects of eunuch biology? At the moment I am quite calm, but certainly not in a fog. Any other eunuchs reading this have a comment on "calm" and/or "fog"?

I'm not in a fog. My memory and mental abilities seem sharper than ever. Also, I have not noticed any decrease in energy.

Hello all .... Been lurking for a long time, but when I saw this thread, I thought that I would jump on board. Just last fall I became quite ill (depression, sweating, hot flashes, weakness, stiff joints & muscles.) Four doctors later, a young female rheumatologist found the trouble. You guessed it! I had joined the ranks of the hypogonadal. Looks like primary failure .... Nobody knows why. I just turned 51 Friday, so I'm not (real) old. Probably some arthritis or possible lupus going on, too. I've been on HRT since November and have improved quite a bit. Wow, the gonads have definitely shrunk. I don't like them this way. They need to be either bigger or gone. However, I'm postponing any decision for the present.

Regards to all.

i am glad that this thread which i start sparked your interest in replying. as i said initially there are a lot of us out there for various reasons. the major thing is to recogonise the condition. taking trt will restore in part your libido and function but even taking it will cause the testicles not to produce testosterone even to the extent they were. - your gonads are not likely to return to earlier size.

JayBee,

You could very well be me! Felt the same way and went like that for many years. I really do miss my nuts. I have also thought about getting the remain tissue removed, however, I think time will take care of that for me.
