I'd just like to congratulate Xan on a lovely little tale, well set & told!
Of course, not my style at all as I would have procrastinated for another 50 chapters before eventually reaching the denouement!
More please from Xan's excellent pen!!

Re: A Story From The Children's Crusade
thank you, comparing this story to your work is a high compliment indeed, however what you can accomplish in a few days to weeks would take me several years. Like your stories though, this short story is based on historic fact. The central character is imaginary, and the facts were more brutal than I cared to write about. Maybe at some time in the future I'll have my character (who I never named) take up his pen again, and write of his current life. I also wanted to make it short as the narrator was supposed to be eight at the time, and I don't think he would have written that much, I know he sounded older, but I didn't think anyone who read the story would stay with it, if it really looked like a young child wrote it. (The children who went on the cruisade were very young)
Re: A Story From The Children's Crusade
I enjoyed the story very much, but I don't recall ever hearing about the Childrens' Crusade in history classes at school. Of course, once you really stop and think about it, the history that they are attempting to teach these days isn't always too accurate.

Re: A Story From The Children's Crusade
This is an excellent little story, thank you.
I would have liked it if you had made it a bit longer, though.
And you are right, Xan, the real ongoing of the Childrens Crusade was much, much more brutal than your description.
I hope you will add a sequel!

Tanish,
Lets face it, the reality of all of the crusades was pretty grim. In fact it is almost a miracle that anyone ever reached the Holy Land.
Bit like taking a package tour today, really.
LOL
