Crytporchadism and T levels

Post by snakecharmer (imported) »

In reviewing the elastrator thread and the supplied link to the product supplier where there is a mention of using bands to induce cryptorchidism and sterility in animals, I wonder at the effect of cryptorchidism in reducing testosterone levels.

Data shows that sperm cells are extremely sensitive to temperature (hence the scrotum and testes descended from the body and core temperature for viable sperm). Would voluntary cryptorchidism, that is, pushing the descended testes back into the body, result in less testosterone levels? It would definitely affect the viability of sperms so one would, in essence, be shooting blanks but I wonder how this would affect testosterone levels? Does the inner body core heat affect the leydig cells, partial producers of androgens? As taken from a med web site:

These data suggest that cryptorchidism exerts a deleterious effect on the ability of the Leydig cells to synthesize T

With this in mind, and using caution and careful observations, one could in theory partially lower one's testosterone and viable sperm by self induced crytorchidism? Some T-girls push their privates inside to create a better panty outline (not so noticeable a bulge) and wear this as such for a period of time. Some of these gals already have reduced testosterone through HRT but would a non- transitioned guy be able to lower his testosterone by such a method?

In animals, banding the scrotum to push the testicles up into the body only causes sterility. The production of testosterone in the testes is NOT effected by body heat. Only sperm production. If this were done, sterility (and loss of scrotum) would be the only results - not full blown eunuchism. To achieve this, the testicles must be fully removed. (Unless you're talking chemical castration via androcur, etc.)
