Time Line for Chemical Castration
I was going in for castration back in November and had to postpone for another medical reason. At the time I was on Chems for only 2 months. Now its been 9 months and so far so good. What is the general consensus on how long to do the chemical castration before moving ahead.

Re: Time Line for Chemical Castration
I've used anti androgen for 8 years, after few months I was impotent and just loved it, but it took 2-3 years to get ther side effects such as concentration problemes, memory lost, severe arthritic pain and finaly depression. when I quited anti androgen, my T level remained low at 3.5 or 100, this is half way between castration level and low normal. Now to get rid of sides effects I use 10 gr. of androgel a day. Before you get castrated you should make sure you are truly at castration level for 1 year maybe 2 to see if you get some bad side effects, not all men react the same to castration. Good luck!

One thing you need to know is if you are really at castration levels. You many think you are but many not be. The true test is at castration levels. The drug dose you are taking can work for one person and not work for another. The side effects are also a some what a way to judge the castration level.
Recommendation is blood test.

I am not sure on the proper time, but I plan on going the chemical route for atleast a year before moving ahead.

Re: Time Line for Chemical Castration
Looking at your profile David I see the reasons for your desires. You may very well be suited to stay on chemical for a long time. Once you get the test results you will be better able to make some choices. On thing many guys seem to forget that there is a level of partial castration that they can find happiness without going all the way. In this I mean just reduce your hormone levels to a much lower level then the present. Yet have them be above castration levels. Often you will find that the sex drive can be greatly reduced, the anger and hostility's become more manageable. You can get much of the eunuch calm. The advantage of this is you may not get some of the health issues that a castrated guy gets. Chance of osteoporosis may be greatly reduced.
By controlling the amount of the drug you may find a area that you like. Live in this area for a while. You can always increase the dose and go to the castration levels. Take a test ride for at least 6 months there. Every one seems to have their only magic number of months for test run. I would go for a year or more. 6 months would be a short test and not find all the experience of being an eunuch in that time frame. The effects take time to happen in the body and mind. So many think it is just a flip of a switch and you are an eunuch and every thing is done.

Re: Time Line for Chemical Castration
thanks for the advice. I am not in a rush, my original thought was a year. Of course i am very curious to see what my t level is now and how close to castrataion level it is. i am taking 75mg a day now. I am also going to get a liver test as long as i am at it. thats one of my biggest concerns about being on the drug.
So far i have achieved alot of the goals that i was looking for and very pleased with the effects. I do get a mini erection maybe once every three or four weeks for a couple of minutes, but nothing ever comes of it. so not sure if that is an indication of my t level.
i will let you know the results next week.
Dave

Re: Time Line for Chemical Castration
I think there are possible issues with any run but they say its all "mostly" reversable if you quit in 6 months. I think atropy of the testes to the point that they won't return fully in fuction. Possible feminization etc. However I don't have sources handy ist just stuff I've heard repeated so....
