A well-written send-up of the C. van D. / Simon series. I'm not sure who did the very original neutersol posting, but I think C.V.D. expanded on it the most.

Was back in the archive you will find a quasi-documentary piece "Boy Neutering Drug" which is the first piece to use the trade name "Neutersol". Having said that, half a century ago and more, at the school dinner table, there was a conversation about castrating animals and someone made the remark "You prick an old horse's, don't you? You prick 'em and they just dry up". So I think it's debatable, who the originator was.

Neutersol is a very real veterinary medicine. It was first brought to my attention by my “son”*, who was, at that time, the Chair of the Advisory Board of our local animal shelter. It was being promoted as a cheaper, easier, and less painful alternative to surgical castration of the many dogs that came through the shelter. There is even a very brief Wikipedia article about Neutersol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neutersol). There are thousands of web pages about it as well.

The product insert that comes with Neutersol gives, of course, both detailed directions for use and a list of precautions and side effects. There is more than a page of detailed instructions on how to use calipers to measure the exact size of the dog’s testicles (each separately, as they might be different) in order to determine the appropriate dose.

Under WARNINGS, the first warning was to keep Neutersol away from children. Second was that it was not for human use. This was followed by a warning to contact a physician immediately in case of accidental injection into a human.

For those who attended the 2008 MoMs in Minneapolis and San Diego, the design on the cards and T-shirts was from a poster that he put together for the shelter’s annual “Spay-ghetti and No-balls Dinner” to collect donations for their low-cost neutering clinic.

And you wouldn't believe the shit-storm I got into via email with the Neutersol people when search engines began pulling up Simon stories, etc., through vet's offices and people researching it!

They demanded I pull all the stories or change the name of the drug therein.

I told them to fuck off and sue me.

I haven't hear a word yet, and that was years ago...

From the early piece "Boy Neutering Drug" I also cribbed two ideas: (a) that Neutersol had been trialled in Mexico on "slaves" and that there was a demand for the drug in State-run orphanages. I expanded the first, saying that among teenage plantation-workers it was necessary to stop the boys being a nuisance with the girls, and in orphanages, the girls had to be made more docile and accept institutional life. The one element I rejected, and which Coran Hyde uses, is that the occasion of a boy's neutering should be a family celebration, bordering on a bar-mitzvah party. I felt that,on the contrary, children should look on it as something that just happened - little girls would refer to it as "that operation that all boys have, to stop them doing rude things with girls".

It was about this time (I would have been 16 or 17) that I was a daily visitor at the home of a near-neighbour who was then the legal guardian of the boy I used as the template for Simon (before his neutering). One of my little jobs, in exchange for my tea, was to ensure that this boy got bathed and into bed by 7.30. More often than not I found him playing with his genitals and making himself "hard". When I suggested this was not a good idea he told me (quote) "All boys have the ends of their peter-johns cut off to stop them fiddling, but I do it just the same". Remembering the dinner-table conversation I said that in that case, he might have to go to the doctor to have his balls pricked; they would dry up and he'd never be able to do the thing with a girl that makes a baby. So far from frightening him he was fascinated by the idea and I had to elaborate on the notion that he might get his balls pricked, night after night.

So you can see all kinds of threads coming together.

I could see how someone might accidentally inject their hand or the hand of someone helping them if the dog was struggling.

Yes, accidentally...

Yes, two times.

Ok, being serious - if someone, somehow, accidentally injects drug leading to tissue atrophy - I think it is really good idea to see a doctor. But I don't know how doctor will help in this case...

Concerning Kangan's question, I don't understand what you're looking for.

My favorite part of "Simon Tells It Like It Was" (by C. van D.) was that Simon came so close to doing "the thing that makes a baby," but he was interrupted, and then he had his balls pricked. A similar thing happens to Eric (though he doesn't come as close to losing his virginity as Simon did).

I wanted to add a little twist to the story, so I had Emily end up being frustrated, too: She passes on Brian for Eric, only to find out that Eric can't; then, she passes on Rick and Sean for Brian, only to find out that Brian can't.

Were you waiting for Emily to eventually lose her virginity? Did you want Cole's parents to change their minds?

Maybe Cole should get Emily pregnant: That would give Cole's parents their desired grandchild, removing the obstacle to having his balls pricked. (But then, I'd have to change the title to "Six Boys.")

There's always the option of writing the "alternate, parallel universe" version of the story, so all constructive comments are welcomed.

To me the most poignant part of Coyan Hyde's story is the scene where Eric and Emily are in bed together, she with no knickers on, he with his underpants down to his knees, straining and straining to get that hard-on, the most important in his whole life, to be able to say he knows what it's like to "do it" - if only once. And, as we're told, he just can't.

Coyan Hyde's story, at this point, raises once again the question of whether neutered boys, with no sex experience, retain - more importantly, develop - sexual longings which they can't fulfil. Shakespeare in Antony and Cleopatra makes the eunuch Mardian say that he has "fierce affections, though he can do nothing, and often thinks about what Venus did with Mars". As a parallel, in the Simon series, several of Simon's schoolmates love to watch porn videos.
