The sky is falling, the sky is falling

Well my ceiling to be more precise. About a week ago I called the rental office to tell them I thought there was a leak because I had new stains on the ceiling. No there were not any old stains. Well they sent over JR instead of one of the young attractive ones I prefer. He looked at the ceiling and said "it looks dry I don't think you got a problem". Thanks for reeking of smoke JR and acting like I was overreacting. Has anyone ever known me to overreact? Oh start a new thread.

Fast forward to 4:30 AM when I am awakened by a steady drip. Quick check it was not me. I turn on lights and walk into the living room. Directly above the corner of my desk, the one given to my grandmother by my grandfather as an engagement gift and passed down to me, was this big bubble of water. Next to the desk was a wet spot in the carpet where the water first began to drip. Yes non T eunuchs can move furniture. Luckily I remembered to remove the matching hurricane lamps also passed down through the generations.

Next I call the emergency number and leave my message. I receive a call in a few minutes and he is as happy to be awake as I was to have a drip. He asks if a pipe has burst. I said I do not think so but I have a steady drip. Which I was thinking could soon be a gusher. We were not communicating well and I said something else and he says "sir that is all I needed you to say". I was informed someone would be there in about an hour. An hour and a half later JR shows up. He looks at it and said that I have a leak. Now he has to go and awaken the guy upstairs. He finds a problem with his water heater and turns off his water. He begins his repair. After 8:00 AM I think to myself, self I wonder if he was coming back? I look out my window and I see him talking. I walk out and ask if he is going to do anything for the dripping water from the bubble that had formed. He grabs his wet/dry shop vac and drains the bubble and extracts the carpet.

Now they will be back in a week to repair the ceiling. They did say they would hire a professional dry wall man to repair the water damage. I was hoping the men doing the electrical, hvac and general repairs were professionals. Well at least no antiques were harmed. Just another chance to grow mold.

The apartment next to my apartment is slightly higher than mine is. I have twice had flooding from next door and once from the apartment above it.

What, and walk up and down stairs? On the other hand I guess things do flush down.

I'm amazed that, with all the hassles you went through with this and your interrupted sleep, you had the energy to write a very amusing story. I had long suspected that non T eunuchs would be able to move furniture. It's good to have that confirmed here! :-). Hope you have a less exciting time of things tonight and you get some rest.
