I am setting up an appointment with a therapist to talk about my gender issues. I am also going to bring up the fact, that I masturbate very often. I am hoping they will perscribe something to reduce my drive. My question is what experiences have you had when talking to a therapist about your sex drive and or gender issues.
This is my first time posting and attempting to see a therapist. Thank you all for your time.

Re: Talking to a therapist
Don't do it! Don't talk to a therapist, I have never met one that was worth the outrageous money they charge.
All you really need is good friends, reasonable people, and you will find a lot of them here. We are all a bit eccentric here, but for the most part you will find the people here are good people, and don't cost anything.

Re: Talking to a therapist
My advice is if you're wanting to talk about gender issues it is good to talk to someone who is qualified to deal with this issue. Talking to friends who may not understand, or have little or no knowledge about the complexities about it may actually send you down the wrong track.
Finding the right therapist who you can have a rapport with can be difficult.

Re: Talking to a therapist
My therapist was many nights stoned staring at the walls and ceiling listening to old favorite songs thinking about life.
After a couple of years and the loss of a $75,000 per year job I gave up MJ and joined the human race and all those things i thought about sorted themselvs out.
NOT RECOMMENDED however.....
