I'm still currently living as a man, though I wear women's clothes at home. I'm going to start wearing more feminine clothes away from home shortly, though I want to get rid of my body hair (I've waxed my legs already) before that. I'm thinking about starting the transition 3-6 months from now, though it depends on how feminine my body gets before that. I tend to dress pretty androgenously anyway, usually just jeans and a t-shirt which is what the majority of people seem to wear, male or female. All of the time I'm wearing a crop-top under my shirt and women's underwear (and socks). I'm thinking around spring to start transitioning (which is your autumn, or fall as you call it).

Thanks EricaAnn. I'm looking forward to see how my body changes, in a way it's quite exciting.

Bless you (and all the other lovely girls) and the best to you in your transitions. I enjoy hearing about your successes. The opportunity was always denied to me.

How about asking forthrightly. Usually works pretty good.

When I first started dealing with it I went to the Sexual Health Clinic which is part of the public hospital here - they referred me onto a clinical psychiatrist to check I didn't have a psychotic disorder or a personality disorder. I also asked around and found a doctor who had a lot of trans-people as patients and he referred me on to quite a good therapist. Telling it to someone else for the first time ever was one of the most amazing moments in my life. I felt so liberated after years of self-hatred/loathing.

I don't know if where you live has a similar sort of clinic, but maybe talk to other trans-people (if you know any) to find out where they go. Otherwise see if you're city has any GLBT groups that provide information.

I had to do a shrink visit prior to my Orchiectomy for pain. I think the idea was to insure I wasn't a "kook" or that I would later regret my choice.

I have to admit I was angry at being asked. I felt that I was a reasonable adult asking for a reasonably medical service. However I changed my mind after the visit. I was wrong...

If felt good to openly talk out my logic and be told that I "was asking for a reasonable" thing that that the doctor felt that I was quite sane to not want to live with chronic pains and that having my ego boosted by having new implants that were normal sized to replace my screwed up shrunken set was also quite normal.

Being Transexual is (I think) quite similar. Are there people who think this is weird etc? Sure but there are people who have brains the size of peanuts also. That think anything not exactly like them is "wrong" and so on. Is it sane and reasonable to have a gender disorder? I think its a pure case of a medical problem that can be resolved medically. Are there people who are "crazy" that want the same thing? Probably. And perhapes this is the reason for the standards of care. To weed out those that are "into" this as a short term sexual fetish or kink. Those poor idiots that are going to leave surgery with huge regrets over what they did.

Anyway, that step of going over this and being able to talk about it with sane reasonable adults has to be a huge plus and I suggest anyone with any sort of medical issue start with their doctor. I've found mine to be a sanity saver on more then one occasion. :)

How are things progressing? What is your body type? Are you very muscular, so the chages will take longer, or are you already more rounded and feminine?
