Posting stories....
Hey...Im new here. I just found this site and think it is amazing. I am interested in posting stories. I like to write and have a vivid imagination. I need some pointers on posting. My big question is this. Must I use the posting page OR can I write on Microsoft Word and then send chapters of on-going stories as I complete and edit and revise them? I can't believe that some of the longer and better written stories here are written and sent in one go. There are so many fonts, formats etc. that it appears that submitters are writing and submitting in alternate ways. Pls. enlighten me as I have begun something I am beginning to like and want to be encouraged to submit. Thanks in advance. I am not very IT oriented to say the least! Perfectlypermanent.

Some basic story guidelines are here:
http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=10515
Most folks do their work in Word or other programs and then cut and paste them into the submission page. Generally, once a story has been accepted and posted into the story archive, it is no longer editable or removable. Many longer stories are posted by chapter (i.e., see some of the stories by Paolo or CharlieJE or Pueros, as a few examples). Generally you are encouraged to write the story then post the chapters, so that stories are not left hanging and unfinished. If you have any great or small difficulties, send a PM to Plix who runs the story boards.

Re: Posting stories....
Thanks for the good tip on how to post. Now all I have to do is write something that people here might want to read. And then the adventure of getting it posted. If I need help I'll be back to ask more questions.
Re: Posting stories....
Never write your story in the submissions box of the story page.
If you move off of the page, or the power goes out, or the PC locks up, then it's GONE and you have to start all over.
Any decent word smasher program will automatically save your work at the interval that you can set in the OPTIONS or TOOLS menu of said program. The easiest way to post your story is to write it up in said program, then go to EDIT, then SELECT ALL, back to EDIT, then COPY...then go back to submissions box and click in that, go to EDIT then PASTE. Then submit it.

Thank you! LOL...I will print and save your instructions which are clearer than Microsofts. Its clear but daunting. You gotta have faith. I will close my eyes when the time comes to submit and hope for the only miracle. Thanks Cap'n Sparrow.
