less effects using androcur second time

I have been on 50mg per day for over a year and my T level is still below 100 on every test I take. Maybe it is the starting and stoping that causes the need to increase the dose?

I am not sure about the starting and stoping but use has been continuos for going on the last 5 months an it appears that my dose will have to go up to 75mg 2 times per day from 50mg 2 times per day, as my T level went from 66 3 months ago to 105 now. However my T level was quite high before I started chemical castration. I dont know if that has anything to do with it.

I am using tamoxifen together with androcur for some weeks now.

androcur lowers my sexdrive, but not to that low level I would like. Taking a higher dose has very little effect, so I think its not clever to take the risks of heavy side-effects.

The tamoxifen didn't have a big result on my sexdrive, I keep using it, hoping to avoid some side-effects of the androcur.

This moment I stopped the medication complet and will wait about 2 weeks to restart. I will see what result there will be afther 2 weeks without andro

I have upped my dose to 75mg 2 times per day for the last 2 weeks and feel like I am again at castrate level. I have also started taking 10mg of tamoxifen per day and have no sexual desires. I was having sex with my wife this morning and I was thinking I would never be able to get off and was mercifully interrupted by the kids. I was able to stop in the middle and couldn’t care less. My wife got hers so that is what counts. In the past I would never have been able to stop like that without finishing. It has been 5 months so far and the way I feel now I hope to make castration permanent in the future.

I am just not sure how I will be able to do it down the road as I am sure it is only a matter of time before Dr Kimmel retires, not to mention I am quite a ways from Philly. It is funny how it works I use to live in Reading, Pa which is 45 minutes from Philly on a good day.

I have been chemically castrated for over 2.5 years. I use Siterone (100mg/day) and Temoxifen (1 20mg/day). I found that adding temoxifen made a hugh difference in the lowering of libedo. Also, I have not had any breast development or other feminization. The combination seem to be more effective at curbing sexual desire and thoughts. I also have blood tests on liver twice a year just to be on the safe side.

I am hoping to have physical castration next summer -- but for now I am very happy with what this drug combination has done for me.

Just a little update on my situation.

Currently, I am on my third round of the Androcur+Tamoxifen combo regiment. I have been on a very low dose of only 25 mg of Androcur, and 20 mg of Tamoxifen per day for about 6 months.

For the last two weeks, I thought I'd give my system a rest, phasing out both drugs. There is no relapse whatsoever of any libido or sexual functions.

I have just started back up on the regiment again as of yesterday.

I too get liver function tests regularly.

It has been a long time since I logged in on this board. As I got the feeling that I needed I higher dose of androcur I didn't think this was a good idea without any healtcontrol from doctor or hospital.

I visited my family doctor in the first week of this year, had my blood checked up for liverfunctions and got cyproteron-acetaat 50 on prescription.

I'm on 3x 50mg/day now, and surely it saves me a lot of money as it is payed by my healt insurance

My liver functions and all the blood test were OK. Last week my docter set me on 3x 50mg / day as it was clear that my drive was not as far down as I would like. I already took 3 tablets daily for about three weeks when I got them ordered now by the doctor. Sinds last week I try 2x 100 mg/day but I'm getting affraid that there will be very little difference between 2x 25 an d2 x 100mg. It's working, but it's not doing the trick I need.

If I concentrade on it, I still can ejaculate two times needing less then 15 minutes between it. The desire to do that sure is less, but having control on myself never was the problem. The problem is that it doesn't fit with who I really am, just doesn't belong with me....

At a Dutch site they also make a connection to changing hormone levels to explain why male can get this problem

I got a corticosteroid ointment (Dermovate creme 0,05% clobetosal-17-propionate)

The problems do fit together with the period that I am using androcur

Any-one familiar with this???
