Finasteride

First Off DonFL great protocols and thanks for posting it. There is a lot of good information there.

I feel I have always had high T levels so chemical castration seemed like a great way to go for me. Back when it was no big deal I was on roids for awhile may that had an effect??? I have been on 50mg 2 times /day for 3 weeks and going to go 4 weeks and then drop back to 50mg/day. I am presently waiting on my blood work results and should have them any day; the blood was drawn after 3 weeks at 100mg per day. I went in for a complete physical on Friday and went ahead and told him what I was doing and taking and he was at that point okay with it. I will say however her was not up on Siterone and did right it down intending on researching it. I was also able to get a serum T level check and he said the only way to get it was to put in my records that I had very low libido and I laughingly told him he was not lying and that was no problem. He also said I had an enlarged prostate and ordered a PSA test and in the same breath said a lot of things can cause an enlarged prostate. He said he will also keep it out of my records that I am taking siterone. Over all I think it went over pretty well with my GP, however that could change once he educates himself on siterone

So far I feel great and was able to function quite well a couple of days ago (wife felt obligated because it was my 44th birthday) and surprising enough my orgasm was still quite pleasurable. I thought it wouldn’t be that pleasurable from what I have been reading. I no longer get erections with out manual manipulation nor do I feel any desire to look at porn. I even deleted about 500 gigs without a second thought and previously I wouldn’t even think about doing it. My wife made 2 comments, that it took a lot longer for me to get hard (use to be instant) and 2 that I seemed smaller in girth and length. Other than that not really any other side effects.

I was wondering if maybe I should also take 5mg Finasteride 1x day to lower my DHT. What I am looking for is chemical castration level T. But at the same time I don’t want to be too hard on my body. I am a trim carpenter so I am pretty active and do a lot of lifting. Right now I am on a hiatus from the gym but will be returning soon as my schedule permits and usually lift 3 times per week and do cardio 3 times per week. So I am fairly active and hope to maintain this level if possible.

At this point I feel better than I have ever felt for as long as I can remember. I realize that at 3 weeks I may not be experiencing the full effects of low T so I don’t know maybe I need to wait to add anything as far as Finasteride to lower my DHT. This is intended to be a test run of a minimum of a year to see if I want to be surgically castrated down the road. I want to go into this educated and as prepared for the effects as possible as I realize there is no “do over” when it comes to this. I would also have to let my wife see how chemically this is working for me and then to convenes her that the next step is the logical one. I couldn’t really just do it without her approval nor could I really hide it from her. Not that I would want too.

Hi Terry~

You seem like a nice guy. Thank you for being so honest when sharing!

I am on finasteride, a little over 1mg. The treatment has been for 4 months now. Things have been changing quickly with my body. My chest has become very sensitive, and my nipples are in some cases protruding. Also i feel as if my muscle has melted away, thus i have been trying very hard to keep active and eat healthy.

Do any of you feel tired or less energetic. I have very low T levels since age 14 (accident) so I have to be on HRT. If I stop taking it I fall apart. I lose so much energy and muscle I can't carry groceries. I want to sleep all the time and I can't think. Homptydumpty, do you know what your T level is? Mine drops to about 50 without HRT.

My T level is 66 and the range they say is normal is 241-827 as a reference point. I have been on siterone 50mg 2 times per day for 3 weeks. I plan on finishing my 4th week at this and cutting back to 25mg 2 times per day to try to maintain. I have notices I feel a little tired and less energetic but at this point it is nothing I cant deal with. Maybe it hasnt caught up with me yet I dont know. I an trying to get to castrate level chemicaly for about a year to see I want to go under the knife. I an thinkinking it might be had to be sure without getting my T levels checked regularly.

I would image you are on more that 1mg of finasteride as in maybe HRT. I only ask because i am thinking of taking it but I dont really want too increase my risk for gynomastia as I am not looking to develope breast. If I did I would probally never get anything done as I would always be playing with then :). In my younger years when I took steriods i developed a slight case that never went away but, I am hoping since I am decreasing T rather than increasing T that I will not experiance that this time.
