Re: Did I really managed to castrate myself?
I tried for years using different non-surgical methods to quasi-castrate myself (without surgery). Chemical castration or burdizzo are of no interest to me. I figured I finally achieved success when I could not mentally or physically make my penis hard. I had no interest in sex. My balls shrank to half their original size. I Still have my balls and they are now smaller and don't hurt when I squeeze them. It's actually pretty cool having in my sack what seems like prosthetic balls.

Re: Did I really managed to castrate myself?
Now I am 99.77% sure that I have managed to castrate myself.
I was wrong about my penis shrinking. Turns out that I didn't have a strong enough erection. I finally managed a strong erection and the old length is still there, but my erections tend to fade fairly quickly now.
The wife and I had some 3-way sex with our male friend recently. At first I was very turned on, but within a few minutes, I was wondering, "Why am I bothering to have sex?" So the libido is finally going, also.
I do have to admit that I have had some occasional negative thoughts about castration, like: "I've really screwed up my body and my sex life." and "Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all." But on the whole, I have come to accept the situation, so I cannot say that I am depressed.
My balls do appear to have died and they are shrunken very much like those of the previous poster.

Did you ever get a blood test?
According to your original post, it's been almost a year since the event that you have posted may or may not have "castrated" you, thereby stopping your testicular production of testosterone. If that action was "complete," then most residual testosterone should have left your system by now and your body would only be producing a little of the hormone, probably in your adrenal glands.
Testosterone levels are volatile, subject to different measurement theories and generally decline with age (and, interestingly enough, have declined in the general population over the last 25 years for reasons that are hypothesized but unestablished--thus the market for things like Androgel among men who have fully functioning testicles). Since you don't have a baseline level "pre-event," it's a little tough to know how much of your reaction is due to the "event," how much is due to age if you are in your mid-60's as your profile suggests and how much is in the mind (the latter is a not insignificant element in what you are discussing). For example, if your Testosterone levels were at the very low end of the normal range for a man of your age, say around 250--300, then a complete loss of testicular testosterone production might not have as dramatic an impact on libido and other matters as it would if your typical level had been at the higher end of the reference range, say around 1,000.
As for your physical reactions (erection size and duration), it's my impression that this is so much a matter of individual physiology that it's difficult to say very much other than "everybody is different." If you have absolutely no testicular testosterone in your system, then it's probable that you would rarely have erections and certainly few that provided much satisfaction. One way to figure this out is just to observe where your body "is" in the morning. Without testicular testosterone, it's unlikely, but once again not impossible, that you would have many morning or nocturnal erections.
Regarding what you say about your libido, I'll take a complete pass, as I don't know you and here, indeed, everyone is "different." But, it is rare that someone without testicular testosterone in their systems would have a strong libido or sexual drive.
My experience is that without HRT over an extended period of time (one year or longer) the libido virtually disappears and morning or nocturnal erections become extremely rare and eventually non-existent. It may still be possible to manually generate an erection (there are a whole lot of nerve endings in the penis and, with sufficient stiumlation, the body will react to such a stimulus by increasing blood flow and building some sort of erection), but only with a lot of work and almost almost certainly without "production." There may still be the occasional nocturnal erection or dream, but the dream is eventually "dry" and not "wet." Body hair begins to disappear and shaving becomes a weekly rather than a daily event. If you have Male-Pattern-Baldness, you might also see it reverse itself. Non testicular testosterone will generate levels that are under 50.
Since you seem to be seeking advice out here, my advice is to get a blood test (a checkup every year ain't a bad idea for those of us who left 50 behind a while ago). If your testosterone level is way below the normal range (300--1,300, depending on age and other factors), then you can be pretty sure that you "succeeded." You can also decide if your emotional and physical well-being would benefit from HRT (clearly, only you can decide that!). If your actions left dead tissue in the wrong places, it would also be a good idea for many reasons to have a urologist check you out as well.

Once again, the best suggestion repeated: Get a blood test.

Re: Did I really managed to castrate myself?
I just got back from my doctor's office.
Last week I had some blood work done. I specifically asked for a T-test along with the usual Cholesterol and other blood tests.
Guess what? He didn't order the T-test! His excuses were: a. it wasn't necessary as I appeared to be quite healthy; b. he didn't want to cause me anxiety about the possible results, good or bad.
Now this was after I had mentioned having: a. hot flashes; b. low libido; c. reduced semen volume; etc.
I did find out that: a. I don't have Lyme disease; b. My cholesterol is a bit high (230) and the good cholesterolf is low (162); c. There is nothing wrong with my thyroid; d. There is nothing wrong with my liver; e. My sugar is normal; etc. for 2 full pages of test data.
I asked him to do the T-test anyway despite his objections. He refused, saying that he was a "conservative" doctor who didn't like to do unnecessary tests.
I did not tell him that I had castrated myself. Now I am debating whether I should: a. tell my doctor about my clamping experiments; or b. go find another doctor.

Or tell your doctor what you did.
Or order one of those $30 Saliva tests that you send in mail order.

You are the patient! Which also means you are the customer! If you are not getting what you want/need (within reason) from your current doctor, fire him!
A T test, for someone who claims castration, and is experiencing symptoms of such, is necessary, since your prolonged treatment by the doctor would most definitely be impacted by you being a eunuch.
Find a new doctor.
