Testro Gel
I suffered a Chronic infection called Orchits, at this time my Physician has me on 5 mg 2 x a day of Testosterone gel.
It has seemed to have helped me a lot.
I am 24, I had suffered it reoccuring times.
Due to the infection my testicles no longer produce adeqate testosterone.
I have been feeling a lot better, less depressed and will come to see other progressions.
I am glad I have found a good physician to help me out.
I am a dominate male and married.
Not sure what my levels are at yet though.
Any one else on the Gels know where the testosterone levels are at, any tips.
Thanks for your help!

Re: Testro Gel
I also had low level testosterone, 3 years ago my T level was at 3,5 or 100. It was lower than the low limit for my age and my doctor prescribed me 5g. a day of Androgel and it did't do any good to me . Now I'm on 10g. a day and I feel like normal again. For all men with low testoterone 5g. won't work because theirs endocine system will reduce the natural T production and they'll stay at same level as they were before. Only 10g. a day will bring theirs T level to a normal level. I didn't have my T level check since I started Androgel but I'm pretty sure it's above 7 or 200 which is low normal for my age (54 y.o.) I'm now using an other brand "Testim", it cost about 25% less. The only side effect I've notice is that my testicules are shriking. Good luck

Re: Testro Gel
10 G per day of Androgel will usually bring a guys' level up to 700 (24 British measurements), and thats if he doesn't produce any tesosterone at all.
And thank you to that second poster who says that 5G sometimes won't be enough. So many docs do not understand that Androgel was fist developed to be a supplement of testosterone for those who already make some, but for those who's levels are extremely low, it is often not enough.

Gels "replace" whatever testosterone your making. The reason they call it Hormone Replacement Therapy is that no one has found an easy way to trick the system that shuts down the testicular production in relation to what the doctors put in.
So, many men with some product who are put on small doses feel great on about day 3 (The short gap where testicles still produce AND you get the effect of the gel) but when their testicles shut down the level may sag to the same level they started with. Thats why you MUST give complete feedback to the doctor prescribing it. Detail how it makes you feel and if its not right scream bloody murder. The doctor "should" be doing a recheck 2 weeks after the initial dose and two weeks after any dose change. After that maybe 6 months and once your in the groove it can be stretched out to a year between labs.
BTW testicular Atrophy is to be expected (I think) when your on HRT. If your using the Gel daily your not using them. Also expect infertility but do NOT count on it. If you have any wishes to father children BANK SPERM NOW! Later might be too late.

Re: Testro Gel
Gel is known for not shutting your level down anywhere near as bad as the shots. I also would not count on it as a male birth control. The shots are what shuts your level down so bad, and sometimes allows you a male contraceptive as well.
I have a friend who is only 32 and has a low testosterone level. Well, it was actually still in the normal range, just the low side of it. He got on 5 G per day of gel and feels better than ever now. So, in his case, 5 G was enough, as he already makes a significant amount of it and that little bit of gel will not really cut his own level back very much, so he is good to go. But I keep hearing about men who have lost the ability to make testosterone altogether and the doc still only puts him on 5 G per day. And most of the time, these men say they don't feel it. Well, because 5 G per day, when you have no tesosterone of your own, will only bring your level to 350! It needs to be at least 500 and for a really young guy, even a level of 1000 would not hurt him one bit.

I probably should shut up because while I call myself Mr "T" I'm no authority but I have read about this in great detail and worked with a good share of doctors so... anyway here goes.
I have to disagree. Testosterone is Testosterone. One maybe a more effective delivery scheme but both disrupt the loop that causes the testicles to create hormone and sperm. Yes -your correct its not a safe birth control. It still takes one sperm to fertilize an egg. However - Testicular Testosterone production goes straight into the tank as you add hormones be if gel, pill, shot. Thats why they call it hormone "replacement" Therapy. If you have huge balls that create tons of Testosterone adding small amounts of Gel may not shut they down fully because they shut down in relationship to how much you add. However if you have huge balls producing tons of testosterone you would not be on HRT. Other then if your a cheating base ball star. Those with testicles that still produce limited amounts add nothing significant to the total after just a few days. And the longer you are on HRT the more atrophied the testicles become. And of course stay that way if done long enough.
Check out the sports "genuises" who abused mega amounts of testosterone to play sports and managed to fry their huge testicles. One reason btw why Testosterone is considered Class III and not as easily available as say Estrogen.

Re: Testro Gel
Different forms of testosterone will shut you down at different levels, and this has mostly to do with its conversion to estrogen. Cypionate has a very high conversion to estrogen and something like Sustanon has lower conversion. The gel gives off VERY low conversion rates. Its because the form of testosterone that is in the gels is different. And that it is a lower dose of it. Something like Testosterone Undecnoate has been shown to just barley be suppressant at all, even at 200mg/wk. The same cannot be said for cypionate. As I said before, altering the testosterone molecule changes its properties. Scientist didn't originally alter it for this purpose, but for the purpose of making 1 ml of oil hold more than just 10mg! And also making a shot last more than a day. LOL But when you add the cypionate ester, it makes it last weeks and also allows a concentration to go from 10mg/ml to 200 or even 250mg/ml. The problem is it causes the characteristics of testosterone to change. For example, taking Enanthate will increase the living shit out of strength, even more than Cypionate does. Yet many don't look toned on Enanthate, or does Enanthate give the same "kick" as Cypionate does. Propionate feels very much like Cypionate, except gives off way less water retention (Lower conversion to Estrogen) And Sustanon makes you very aggressive, even at lower doses.
Be careful of what you read on the BBs about "testosterone being testosterone" It's not. Some forms of testosterone will even burn fat better than others or build muscle better or strength better. And some is more androgenic and some less, which is why women can use so much propionate and not masculize on it, as propionate is FAR less masculizng than something like Sustanon. I have even observed far different levels of hair loss with different forms of testosterone. Sustanon made me go bald very fast. Where as, Enanthate not near as bad, and Prop or Undecanoate, almost no hair loss at all. This is why this knowledge is important for men who may want HRT, but may have a receding hairline or want to have kids soon. I have seen women who used testosterone for a sex change, yet didn't really become very masculine on it. Well, they were using Cypionate. And I have seen women use methyl testosterone and became just extremely manly on it, with leather for skin. Bottom line is, it comes down to what you want. If you want to bulk up, assuming you live in a free country, Cypionate is the most anabolic steroid that has ever been commercially available. If you want to get lean, stay the hell away from Cypionate. If you want to look and feel very aggressive and masculine, Sustanon, or the gel (assuming you can get enough gel) is the way to go then.
BTW, you are wrong about the reason it became controlled. I have read the court hearings and how everyone, including the DEA, FDA, and AMA said it should not be controlled. Banning testosterone probably had more to do with the same reason why the government frowns on free speech and gun ownership than their "concern" for your nut size.

Re: Testro Gel
For me the gel did a lot better than the shots. Even 5 g a day gave me much better erectile function than I ever got with 100/week of the shots. But maybe the gel just needed to kick start things a little because now the shots are doing better than they were before I took the gel, although still far below what would be desired for someone on TRT.

I can believe that. It is known that testosterone (with no ester, like that found in the gel) is more of a neuro stimulant, making the nerves in the penis work better. I also noticed a little gel making me get really hard easily, even compared to tons of Cypionate.
